Hey everyone!
Here I am again! I have an only and just turned 37 and contemplating getting back into ttc again. I really hear my bio clock ticking and I know it is now or never. It took 2.5 years to concieve my dd and then I tried another 5 years after that.
Since then I have gotten divorced and drastically changed my life. My SO and I are dipping our toes in to see if it is even possible for me to get pregnant now. So many emotions, IF truly never goes away. I want a sibling for my dd and another baby to add to my family.
Hope to get to know everyone. Feel free to contact me if you want a cycle buddy (I wont be cycling until later this year, but I have to get an HSG done and start monitoring my cycle and I am THE best cheerleader!)....

Hi Julie!
Welcome to this site! Love the name by the way. It sounds like you've been through the wringer over the last 10 years or so. Good luck getting started with this chapter again! How old is your DD? Does she know about your hopes/dreams/plans? Can totally relate to the IF never goes away and brings with it do many complicated emotions...
By the way, I hope to start an IVF cycle in the next couple of months so maybe we'll end up cycling together!

Hi Julie. I am new to this board, I am bummed I didn't find it sooner! There's not a lot of support out there I have found, for women that have a child and are having trouble with another... so it's nice to find other women going through the same thing.
My DS is 23 months, he was our first IVF (we have MFI). Since then I have done 3 fresh & 1 frozen, resulting in 2 chemicals and 2 BFNs. I always wanted siblings close in age and the gap is just getting bigger & bigger.
Nice to meet you!Dorothy (30) & DH (31) Dealing with severe MFI
IVF #1 9/2009 - baby boy born 5/22/10 at 37.4 weeks due to low fluid
IVF #2-4 6/2011-3/2012 - 2 chemicals, 1 BFN
FET #1-2 - BFN & embryos didn't survive thaw
IVF #5 8/2012 - new doctor - BFP! Twin boys arrived at 34.5 weeks 4/10/13!

Welcome Dmsangel! You've been doing some serious treatment and it sounds like they've been really tough. Do you have any idea why you've had the chemicals? Have you done any RPL testing?
The sibling age gap thing is really hard. With every cycle I'm constantly imagining..ok, DD will be x years apart from baby if this works. It's really sad to see the gap getting bigger and bigger.
Good luck with you upcoming FET

Julia, thank you, it has been tough. All my testing has come back normal. The chemical last month was because of poor embryo quality. All other embryos have looked great, but I have a suspicion that the MFI is playing a role. They pick the best swimmers out of what we have, and the embryos are usually 8-cell and graded well, but we lose almost all of them between day 3 & 5, so something must not be right.
If this FET doesn't work we will be changing to a new RE who will hopefully figure something out.Dorothy (30) & DH (31) Dealing with severe MFI

DMS- our primary diagnosis was also MFI 7 years ago, we had success also the first IVF. But when i went back for #2 it wasn't so easy, lots of issues, hurdles, i was only 33 trying for #2 and in 2 years my fertility had dropped off. So here is a recap hope it gives you some hope to just keep going, persistence is the key i believe if you have the finances to keep going
successes, twin loss mentioned
IVF#2 made it to trigger day, cx due to low e2 and poor response/ IUI conversion HAHAHA with awful sperm BFN
IVF#3 BCP and antagonist- 6 eggs, 3 embryos on day 3 (8 cell & 7 cellx2) BFP- twins until 9 weeks, with heartbeats then each died.
THEN found out low amh , diminished ovarian reserve at just turned 34 and told donor egg AND i have MTHFR
IVF#4 microdose lupron flare protocol (HORRIBLE) new bigger better clinic, only 3 EGGS- donor sperm- BFN also using steroids and High DOSE FOLIC ACID
IVF#5 OLD clinic- antagonist with NO bcp, 12 eggs, 8 embryos, transferred (2) 8 cell embryos and a 7 cell embryo on day 3 BFP now almost 2 (baby aspirin, steroids, adn HIGH DOSE FOLIC ACID)
SO BASICALLY it took me 4 fresh cycle starts/attempts to get another sticky bfp, and it takes some alot more than than. kEEP THE HOPE UP
For me only having a few embryos we chose to transfer on day 3 vs trying for day 5 transfer. we also never had anything to freeze after our cycles... alwasy fresh. Alot of clinics don't have great stats for FET's, now some do have great success, but they are few and far b/w. Just be prepared with the FET... typically on the fresh cycle they transfer the best.
You had quite a difference in response b/w 2009 and 2012, different protocol?? Of course things can change pretty drastically, but you are still really young, so you should have gotten more than 6 eggs , so they need to be a little more aggressive if you do another fresh to get more eggs, with MFI the more you have to work with the better off you are.
My good friend went thru 7 cycles, 4 fresh and 3 FETs, had one chemical, and her last fresh attempt BFP- all they were dealing with was a vasectomy.... SOMETIMES IT JUST TAKES ALOT OF EFFORT

Jen - Thank you so much for sharing, that's what I'm worried about now that I'm getting older, that we'll have more problems to deal with. The 6 eggs was with BCP & lupron, they were trying something new to see if it would work - definitely not! We always do a day 3 transfer because we never have much on day 5.
