Wonder if DD will have same issues with Fertility?

I haven't 100% jumped back in the whole IF train just yet. Need for health reason to lose some weight and we need to save a little money. I'm looking to start in fall right before my lovely 38th birthday.

I do have a 3 1/2 year old dd. She is a total combination of me and dh but my mom says her body is mine 100% and I actually cringed internally if that makes sense to you and doesn't sound too horrible. I do not want dd to have any of these issues. I want her to be fertile myrtle like all of dh's family. They are so fertile that I swear they all have gotten pregnant first time trying. Some even got pregnant while on birth control. I know I have PCOS although it's undiagnosed at the moment. I have all the signs. I know my grandmother had this because although not discussed she showed some of the signs.

I pray all the time that dd does not have this issue and has as many kids as she wants!!!!!!

right there with you.

i do have PCOS. i strongly suspect my mom did too, but she's already passed on so i can't get more details, and i would bet it wasn't dx'ed and they didn't even have a name back then.

sadly it's not something i feel i can discuss with my sis.... she had one pg that i know of that m/c, and in the end she adopted 2 beautiful children... i don't know if she tried IF tx along the way.

i have a dd (just turned 2) and hope she doesn't have to face my issues. i'm an older mom (had dd at 39) so i'm not even sure if i'll be around when she's dealing with ttc. (i secretly hope she starts earlier than i did, but not too early if you know what i mean!)

but i will likely write her a letter so she'll be armed with info if she needs it. and to let her know how much she was wanted (sappy i know).

blessed to be expecting #2.... who will arrive just before i turn 42. hope that gives you some reassurance about your timing... it may be harder as we get older but it does still happen. when you're there check out the 35+ board -- great resource and very active.

I worry about that too. (My dd is 2 1/2 right now.) My RE is rather certain that I have always had PCOS (due to a history of very irregular cycles and more)

But my mom and I have the same body types and she had two children no problem, although she was done by 27, and I am now 35 ttc once more. I am pretty sure she doesn't have PCOS (my mom) as she loses weight much easier than me and has none of the typical PCOS stuff.

This is a huge worry of mine too. My mother suffered from IF, all we know is that she had tubal issues and that it took 9 years for her to get pregnant with me. She also had problems with heavy periods and ovarian cysts. I suspect she had endo as I do. This leads me to worry for my DD who is 18. I am so scared that the pattern will continue and she will be the third generation to experience endo and infertility. It would be devastating as I know she wants children very much...

I think we all share that fear who have dealt with IF. I hope in 10-15 more years by the time my dd is ttc that with the knowledge I have, I can personally guide her in the right direction so she doesn't waste precious time.

Shelli, your daughter has grown into a beautiful woman!
