Hey Ladies-
Mayra doesn't go to daycare on Mondays. Tues morning, there was an envelope on top of her cubbie, turned out to be an invite to a bday party this coming Saturday. The Bday girl is one of her favorite palymates, so i want to take her to the party and need a gift on short notice.
In light of the recent toy recalls, what on Earth is safe to buy?
We got a book at BJ's, but I wouldn't mind seeing if I can do better.
TIA-
Kathleen

I had this dilemma yesterday. I was trying to find a birthday present for a two year old...and of course, my eyes travel right to Fischer Price toys...I looked on the back to see which ones were made in China...most of everything I picked up was...so I went with something from Parents.. a cute dr's kit and it was made in the USA!!

how about some cute pajamas or a cute robe and slippers? I know my kids like getting things other than toys. My kids love playing with Tinkertoys. Hullabuloo by Cranium is a great game too because they can play it by themselves

I hear ya! I bought Polly Pockets for a party on Saturday and I read somewhere on the GP that they've been recalled. I think I'm going to return them for books or pajamas.
