I have got a "big number" bday coming up, and DH found some cool invitations, but they are wayyy pricey! I told him I love some of the new papers I have seen, and showed him a few I liked. I thought maybe my girlfriends and I could put together some with some nice ribbon.
Here are the party details...
I didn't really want a theme. Nice, but not too stuffy.
We are having it in an outdoor courtyard on the lagoon
DH hired a caterer who cooks everything there, and he will serve about 12 different appetizers (yum) and is having wine, beer, and margaritas (my fav)
We have hired a band that plays Jazz, R&B, Reggae, also some original stuff www.newbreedband.com (they are friends of ours)
Anyway, I picked a few striped papers tonight...does anyone else have any suggestions for me? What do these papers "say" to you? For some reason I like stripes lately...feminine, but not too frilly~ I have awhile to order, so any suggestions can be ordered!
Oh and another photo...my DH picked this jewelry for me (not purchased yet!) now I have to find a dress...I am thinking a chocolate brown color?!
Can you tell I need help!?!?

Totally go with a choc brown dress -- but you could also go with the light blue if you find something fab in that color. I think the necklace would pop off the brown though.
I like the stripes! Since it's a party for you, I guess the one on the left strikes me as the one I would use. But then since it is near water the other would work too!! Whichever you chose, be sure to buy enough to do a bday album with!
But, how many people are you inviting? I freaked out about the girls' grad party but then realized I only needed like 15 invites because each family was 4 or more - so I did not need 60 invites, kwim?

I agree with you and Rua - the chocolate dress will be great and really make the turquoise in the necklace pop! I like the second set of striped paper best, but like them both. I am so impressed Dh picked out a necklace for you - my Dh would have no idea on something like that! Enjoy the party - sounds fun - and we want to see pics!

What if you did a piece of vellum over the striped paper with all the party info, then you add a nice ribbon through both to hold it together, or brads, eyelets, whatever....
I made some for a baby shower that turned out GREAT... when I tied the ribbon together I added a baby charm to it.. they looked very high end for not much money...
you can also punch out a shape at the bottom corner to get a full view of the paper, but just a small one.
Love the jewels!!I will give your President the same respect you gave mine. (FB Flair 2009)

i like the second stripe. the blue echoes the lagoon idea.
love love love that jewlery! When we walk to the edge of all the light we have and take that step into the darkness of the unknown,

Thanks girls, I knew I could count on you! I didn't even think of the blue with the water! The cool part of the 2nd paper is its double sided. The back side is taupe with a smal print. We are having 30 couples, so it won't be too bad to make~ I found a pretty silk green ribbon that should go~ I will show you when I finish it!
DH surprised me too! When we were in Vegas, we went to the Brighton store and he saw it and brought it to me to try on!
