from 1998 to 2007. They have all been very unique and interesting. One of them was a picture book-LOL! So I told him to tell me the story since there were no words. It's called Flotsam. I'm glad I bought them on Amazon and it didn't cost too much since you can buy them used and from other dealers.
Anyone else's child reading something unique or interesting?

Wow! That's late!!! DS has been in camp for almost 3 weeks and we'll be celebrating the 4th of July next week. I can't believe yours are still in school. But then again we don't have year round schooling and he is going to private not public school so the times and holidays are different.

06-27-2007, 05:33 AM #4We don't have year round either - we are off now till Sept 5th. We had an extra 3 days added on because we were closed 1 week in April for flooding and we had used up our snow days.

Barge to ask ... do you have a list of these books? Is there one per year or how does it work? Are they aimed at different age groups? I recall when I was younger they were always the best books and would like to look into them for KS for the future. I also recall Newberry Awards for children's books but dont have info on that either
Ya used and cheap is the way to go - we also like Abe books which includes a lot of independent book sellers.
Thanks,

Sure I have a list. Let me go dig it up! Ok I couldn't find it but I do have the books that DS wrote down. The books are from 1998 to 2007, one book a year gets the Caldecott MEDAL. I think he read them in order of published date so the 1st might be from 2007?
These are not Caldecott honor but Caldecott MEDAL winners
Rapunzel by Zelinsky
Snowflake Bentley by Azarian
Joseph Had a Little Overcoat by Taback
So You want To Be President? by Small
The Three Pigs by Weisner
My Friend Rabbit by Rohmann
The Man Who Walked Between Towers by Gerstein
Kitten's First Full Moon by Henkes
The Hello, Goodbye Window by Raschka
Flotsam by Weisner
The books are for ages 4-8 ? so a few are simple lones that could be read to a Pre-K or K student like Joseph Had a Little Overcoat, My Friend Rabbit, Kitten's First Full Moon, etc.. and then there are others that are at the upper range of reading like Rapunzel and So You Want to be President?
They are all differrent and unique and DS enjoyed them.MAV Mom to
