Grandpa Time- talking clock

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. Last night I purchased a Grandpa Time Clock at an auction.
Grandpa Time is from the days of Cricket, Teddy Ruptkin, and Casey the talking Robot.
It is a clock that has a tape recorderin it. You set the child's bedtime and wake up time. About 15 min before bedtime it starts saying something like Time to put your toys away or time to brush your teeth and as it gets closer to bedtime it says time to get in bed or turn off the light. It then proceeds to tell a bedtime story.
In the morning it says something like Rise or Shine or it crows like a rooster.

Well the problem is I cant really figure out how to work the settings. Also the cassette player which plays fine has a noise to it that reminds you of Morse Code. So I decided to take the back off to see if it was a loose wire. The cassette player now plays for like 10 seconds and turns off almost like the motor stopped running.

The company that made it Homestar went out of business. The back has 1988 on it.
Granted I only paid $2.00 for this and its probably the reason someone was getting rid of it.
If anyone knows anything about this clock or has one (that works) that they want to get rid of. PLEASE let me know. I would really appreciate it.

Also I tried ebay and there's nothing on there. I think thats a first! lol

not sure if you still have grandpa time but I have a working one that I still have the directions for. If you still need info on settings please let me know.
For those that may read this...I am not interested in selling mine, they were my older childrens and my younger ones love them just the same.
