POF & herbs

I am a 37 yr old trying to conceived and have been diagnosed with POF. A barrage of test has not been able to explain my condition. I always had a period before I went on the pill. I believe my troubles started with the pill. My period was almost non existent while I was on the pill and my doctor said that was perfectly fine. I was on the pill for roughly 4 years; since I got off I have had irregular periods, which were mostly induced by hormones.

Based on my tests, my numbers showed that I was post menopausal. My last FSH reading was at 144. I was told all the other numbers are fine. I started to think out the box and started acupuncture treatment, along with some herbs. That totally eliminated the heat that I will some times experience.

I also have fibroids that I will need to get-rid off. My doctor has to check the size and location before he will be able to determine what procedure will be needed. In the mean time, I hear that wheat grass is good for lowering FSH. I must say I haven’t seen anyone with an FSH as high as mine on these boards. I am wondering if adding wheat grass to my current herbal regime will be OK. Any ideas?

Hi my name is Jo I'm 38 was told that I have POF last year my fsh has been 19.6 but that was in Feb 08 the last time it was tested. I have undergone superovulation iui fertility treatment in april this year and I didn't respond to it so I was advised to stop, and have been told I will go thru the menopause in the next 3 yrs. Even though it takes 6 months for the drugs to get out of your system and for your cycle to return to normal, my periods are all over the place. I was on for 2 weeks, went to see the doc on friday and he has given me some tablets to stop the bleeding.. Been to the gym this morning and I my stomach is aching abit, and guess what? I am on again, its driving me mad..
So I don't no if I'm heading for the menopause or what..
Have your periods been odd ?? due to the fsh thingy?

I have taken up reflexology as this is suppose to help lower the fsh.

Hi Kosso,

My fsh is 110! Pretty high too! I did acupuncture and the hot flashes went away!
I have had 2 periods after 1 year w/o any and I will check my fsh on Friday again.
I'll keep u post!
Have u considered egg donation?

It's definitely fine to add whaet grass. It's like adding a vegetable.
