Hello Everyone!
I am new here, but have been following your thread for months. I didn't know if I should join because I am actually pregnant with triplets, not twins. However, we do have 4 year old twin girls, so I have walked in your shoes before and can tell you it is amazing!
We are currently 26 wks 3 days and are not finding out genders. We are praying we can make it to 34 wks, but honestly, as long as we can see Sep 1st and still have babies in my belly, we will breath a huge sigh of relief (that would be 30.5 wks). I have been having contractions for about a month, but nothing too serious. I did go to the ER last week because my contractions wouldn't stop when I laid down (which they had been doing for the last month). Thankfully all looked good. My cervix is still 2.8. I wish it were a bit more, but I'll take what I can get at this point...at least that means no official bedrest yet. This pregnancy is knocking me down a lot more than the last one. I was working full time and still exercising most days during my twin pregnancy. With this one, I huff and puff just folding laundry:-)!
We delivered our girls at 32 wks 5 days (my water broke). For those of you who have been discussing weight gain and activity level, I will tell you this...I think I could have carried them longer if I had gained more weight and cut back on activity. I did not know about Dr. Luke's book at the time. If I had, I would have done a lot more to gain the weight she recommends. I have always been a very physically active person (mostly running and cross-fit), so gaining this weight has not been emotionally easy, but after seeing my babies born under 4 lbs and spending a month in the hospital with them, I will do everything I can to make sure they are well nourished.
HAIRWIZ - your precious little ones have been in my prayers...so glad to hear little Gavin is showing signs of improving and Olivia really seems to be doing great!
Best wishes and prayers for you all and your little ones!
Cheers-
T D

(Reposting this from yesterday since there's a new thread.)
Hi Ladies, the good news is that I had my 18 week anatomy scan done on Wednesday and we found out we're having two little girls! I'm so happy and excited! DH was able to come to this appt and I'm so happy he was there so we could find out together. Let the name sorting and nursery planning begin!
The not-so-good news is that Baby A has a 2-vessel cord instead of the normal 3-vessel. Of course, I've been sitting on Google looking up all sorts of scary outcomes...everything from low weight to chromosome disorders like Trisomy 13, 18, etc. My MFM said not to even worry because all the baby's organs looked great, growth was equal to Baby B, and he said he sees this fairly often with no adverse outcome. We had PGD testing done on our embryos due to my DH's translocation prior to implantation and this embryo that became our twins tested "normal chromosome count". I still can't help worry, even PGD testing isn't 100%. The NT scan was within "normal" range too. I'm wondering about an amnio, but my MFM and regular OB said they don't see the need since there are no other markers of anything wrong with Baby A. Their biggest concern with a 2-vessel cord is a smaller baby, but I'll be monitored every 2 weeks anyway for TTTS and they will spend plenty of time watching Baby A closely.
Has anyone ever had this cord issue, or known anyone with it? I can't help but worry, this is my first pregnancy and this news really threw me for a loop this week.

TD - You are totally welcome here. While we do have all twin mommies right now, this thread is for anyone pregnant with multi's. As you already know, having a third baby in there does make a difference, but the twin moms still understand better than the singleton moms do.
I used to have 2 separate threads going, one for twins and one for trips or more. But, unfortunately, there just was hardly any activity in the trip thread. Once the 3 or so ladies had their babies, it completely died. Maybe if you join it will encourage other moms with trips to join us too.
It sounds like you are doing well. Hopefully, you can keep them in for a while longer. It's hard to rest so much and keep off that cervix, but it's so important even when you aren't officially on bedrest yet. Anyway, please feel free to hang with us. We would love to support you and have you support us. (I'm not pregnant with multi's this time. I have 2 sets of twins and this pregnancy started as twins, but I'm currently 29wks pregnant with a surviving ID twin. I have never been pregnant with trips. So, I can't fully relate. I have been around for a while and supported lots of moms with trips. Also, my SIL had trips 6wks before my 1st set of twins. So, I do have more "experience" than the average person, but I fully admit I haven't been through it and I do know it's different.)
Carly - I have heard of that before. I haven't done a lot of research on it though. I do know that it can be a problem, but often it isn't. At this point, I would just think of it another thing to make you worry and not actually a problem. They are going to be watching you so closely. I'm sure if there are any issues from it, they will find it. I'm sorry you are dealing with it. I can only imagine how scary it is.
Heather
