Twin maternity tops? Where? oh Where?

    Hi!
I've checked out every maternity consignment store within miles and although I carried large with my singletons, I'm almost out of tops that fit my belly. Same with the shirts in the stores. When I get something large enough to cover my bump, the shoulders and neckline are outrageously gaping.

An assistant at the eye store suggested I check out the current stretchy dresses and wear them as tops. (plus later I could wear them as a dress I guess.)

I've been ok with the large tops, as I was keeping my pregnancy under wraps until 22 weeks, but now I would like to not look like a boat anymore.

I'm 5'6.5" and weigh 169 at 23 weeks, with a C cup, so about average. My belly is just starting to grow, but I expect it to grow by leaps and bounds, considering that is what happened with my singletons.

I live in a rather off the beaten track area in Canada, so no local Old Navy stores, etc.) Thyme is about the only retail place available and I'm not too enthused about their 'style' for me, nor the new prices for something I will only wear three months max.

    Welcome your creative suggestions? Thanks!

    Hmmm...a few ideas:
online shopping? I think (?) Old Navy delivers. Or other stores in the States do.
Thyme is definitely expensive for how long you wear it. I got a couple cute shirts from there by thats it.
Do you have any recently pregnant friends? One gave me 2 rubbermaids full of maternity wear. Saved me a bundle!
What about a thrift store? Because maternity clothes aren't worn much, they would probably be in good condition.
To be honest, after week 30 or so I just rotated through maybe 3 or 4 shirts that fit and made me feel halfway decent. As long as I had some comfy pants (read: sweatpants) then I was good.

That is my plan. To find 3 or 4 shirts that are attractive. Pants are easier to find second hand.

I've been trying to find a multiples club in our area (via googling) and no such beast exists. May need to dig through word of mouth to find a contact number for them.

Thank you Ash for your suggestions. I did find an on-line store with great prices late last night. Will need to dig into history to find it again as my kids closed the browser.

Old Navy was good for me. They are cut generously and the prices aren't too bad. You can often get things on clearance. I also got some things at Target and some at JC Penny. I never found much at Motherhood Maternity. They seem to run smaller. (Plus, I strongly dislike their return policy.) I got several shirts that I could wear around the house, but only a couple to wear out. By the end, I could only wear my cotton PJ type pants and a few shirts. I had never gone out in those before even though I know some people do, actually not even in my first twin pregnancy. LOL. Good luck finding things!
