Stressed about having stress and its effects on my twins!!
Hello Ladies,
A few days ago I was asked to give a presentation to a large group of people and needless to say it caused me much stress for the duration of the time I was speaking (about 20 minutes) - my hands got clammy, dry mouth, racing heart, adrenaline pumping...now I am afraid it will have negative consequences on my twins. I do not generally have a stressful life - my job at times requires presentations but not too often though. I am currently almost 14 weeks and to date everything has been fine - no bleeding, cramping or anything else worth noting (I get frequent headaches tho which really are painful at times) and have nausea all day but those are common symptoms I believe - Im just scared that if I have to present again that something negative will happen...has anyone experienced sporatic stressful occurences and have everything turn out OK in the end? please help! many thanks...

I think you will be fine! (Did you know public speaking is feared more than death?)
I'm a teacher and I tell ya, the more you speak in public, the easier it gets. I used to get super nervous and now I may be nervous the first day of school since I don't know the students but it's not such a big deal anymore.Anyway, I was totally stressed-out during my twin PG and they turned out fine. I think part of my stress was fear of losing a much-longed-for pregnancy after IF. I had several stressful events on top of my normal worries (bleeding episode, worries about baby A's growth, and a fender bender at 33 weeks. I spent the day in L&D from the car accident to rule out placental abruption and did have a run of contractions that terbutaline stopped and went home that night and was PG another 3 weeks.) Hang in there!!!!!!! You're doing fine!!! PS. Accidentally put a ? symbol in the title and now I can't delete it.

Oh yeah.. I was stressed throughout my entire pregnancy. Stressed about the babies being OK, we were in the process of buying a new house and selling ours. Lots of things that were always underlying stresses that flared into big stresses sporadically. Everything ended up just perfect despite it all. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
