Hi everyone, I've added a few posts to the military pages and have been reading all of your posts, but haven't formally introduced myself. We just went through the April/May IVF cycle at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Wash DC. We did a 3 day transfer of four grade 2 embryos, hatching two and leaving two alone, and two of them implanted! We were hoping for just one, and shocked that two actually implanted (this was our fourth cycle and we've never had more than one take), but now that we have gotten used to the idea, are so excited to be expecting twins! We have lost heartbeats in the past, though, so we’re being cautiously optimistic and are still very nervous... The good news is that we've had three ultrasounds (7, 8 and 10 weeks) and so far both heartbeats have been strong and both babies are measuring right on track.

Our next ultrasound is tomorrow, which will be the Nuchal Translucency Test. I'll be right at 11 weeks, so hopefully it's not too soon (I was hoping to schedule it for week 12, but with the military medical system, the appointments are very limited and you take what you can get..the good thing, though, is that the care where I’m being seen is really great).

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and sharing this wonderful experience with you, both before and after the pregnancy.

Congratulations! I am in my 10th week with twins, so it sounds like you are just a few days ahead of me. My EDC is Jan 18.
I felt really overwhelmed at first that both of our embies implanted- I never expected that! I had an ultrasound today and the babies are really starting to look like babies instead of blobs- very exciting and making it seem more real to me and DH.
There are several women expecting twins in January in the Jan 2010 due date club if you'd like to join us- under pregnancy and due date clubs- it's a weekly thread.
