New to the Board....
Hello everyone,
I am new here. We just finished an IVF cycle and transfered 3 blasts. I got my first BFP 4dp5dt. My first Beta was 1327 and the second Beta (48hr later) was 3013. DH and I have been hoping for twins but won't have our ultrasound until Thurs. RE office says they are pretty confident there is more then one... but the question now is, how many? Anyone have any guesses? I hate waiting. With an IVF cycle that is all you seem to do. Then when it's over and you get a positive Beta you still worry and wait. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing good and will be chatting with you along the way.

WOW- what day was your beta? That sounds super high! I am pg with twins and my beta was 363 16dpo (11dp5dt). I think you are pregnant with triplets with that kind of beta!
Congratulations! |

The Beta was actually done on 12dp5dt. It was supposed to be 14 days but I convinced them for 3 days earlier.
Thanks you for them warm welcome! Our first ultrasound is this Thurs and I am so excited to see how many are in there and to see little heartbeats. We have waited so long for this and I am just so excited. |

Your betas seem high but it still could be two in there and not 3. I think in my siggy it shows what my betas were for our triplets. We also transferred 3 and all three took. They are now almost 4 years old.
CONGRATULATIONS! Suzan

Did you have a lot of difficulty with the triplet pregnancy? The only thing that really scares me about having triplets is the prematurity/ NICU and potential problems for the babies. I have been doing a lot of research just in case and trying to prepare for whatever lays ahead for us, but my goal, no matter how many are there, is 37 weeks. I just don't know how close I can get with 3. I have been told the average is 32weeks and it worries me a lot. I just want them to be healthy.

I did not have any difficulty until 20 weeks and then it was all downhill from there. I don't want to get into a lot of details since you don't need to worry about that yet. You can always to a search on my name and read my story/experience.
My adivce, do not do a lot of research. I chose to stay somewhat naive about things b BECAUSE I didn't want to worry. I did things on a need to know basis. With triplets 37 weeks may not be achievable. Most make it to 32-33 weeks. There are some who have no complications who make it to 35-36 weeks but after that it becomes dangerous to you and the babies. If you find out it is tripets I would suggest going to www.tripletconnection.org It is a great place for information. Good luck to you Suzan

Thanks for the encouragement Suzan!
Well first ultrasound was this morning. The count is in and there are three little sacs and yolks. We go back in two weeks to see how many heartbeats. Part of me is extactic, part of me is scared, and then the rest is still in shock. I had hoped for heartbeats today to ease my mind a little but he said we are still too early. I do get to stop the estraderm patches and dexamethasone which is nice, and he is talking about weaning down the PIO depending on today's blood work. The past two days I have had extream nausea pretty much all day. |
