Ectopic Scare Update- now 2 sacs with one HB and one empty...
Some background:
This is my first IVF cycle. Only 2 of 10 retrieved eggs fertilized, so we did a 3dt on May 15 and I am 40 years old. We had one grade A- 6-cell and one grade B+ 8-cell. Betas: 12 DPO 41 12 DPO 112 16 DPO 378 20 DPO 3769 and Progesterone 77 (Nothing seen in uterus this day) 22 DPO 6608 (gestational sac only measuring 5w6d) Today is 31 DPO and we were thrilled to see a beautiful beating heart at 120 bpm and measuring 6w3d. We also saw a second gestational sac but it is only measuring 5w2d with no yolk or fetal pole yet. I have a f/u ultrasound next Friday. RE Nurse is not very hopeful anything will develop. But she is also the one who was 90% confident that I was having an ectopic last week b/c my uterus was EMPTY at 4w6d but my hcg was so high. I am preparing myself for the fact that the second baby will not materialize. Just wondering if there is ANY reason to retain hope at this point that it still may turn out OK? Congrats to you all and thanks for any feedback... XO ~ Holleigh

There was a woman in my cycle group who transferred 2 at 5 days. She had a heartbeat and a sac at her 6-week, and the smaller one caught up. Now she has 2 hearbeats. Ticker says she is 7w4d now. She learned this at 7w1d if my calculations are correct.
Another woman in my cycle group had a similar thing as you, and her second one was considered a "vanishing twin" when it did not develop. Good luck. I wish you the very best! |
