What are the chances??

I am currently 17 wks 5 days with b/b twins. I am super nervous as of this morning. A friend of mine has been dealing with PTL for months now and was pregnant with b/g twins. Yesterday she was 37 wks and had her twins. Her last ultrasound was on friday and both babies were doing great. When she delivered her son was a stillborn. I could not believe it!! A few days ago he was great!! I researched a little more about b/b twins and the survival rate and am a little nervous. Please some one reassure me !!!!!

Do not think that your pregnancy will mirror your friends. Her outcome is not the typical outcome for a twin pregnancy. I had my twin boys at 37w1d and they were both over 5lbs. and very healthy...came home with me 2 days after birth.

Take care of yourself, drink LOTS of water so you don't get dehydrated (which is very easy to have happen) and stop worrying. Use your instincts and tell your doctor if something just doesn't feel right.

I had a couple of weird things happen at 22w and then again at 32w, but good medical care, I was just fine and you will be too.

Enjoy the pregnancy as much as you can.

Janet

I agree. My boys were born (scheduled c sec) at 37weeks and did wonderful. It is unfortunate what happened to your friend, but certainly not the norm. I had a few "scares" during my pg and all was fine. Try not to worry and enjoy your boys!
