It's 2 boys..

Well we had our 19 week growth scan and tests done and everything looked good. 1/1112 chance for Trisomy 18 or 21.

The ultrasound showed 2 boys. I know I should be happy that I'm pregnant w/ 2 healthy babies, but I can't help but be a little disappointed. All my life I've always pictured myself raising a little girl. It's just a complete shock that I won't get that opportunity.

Help me snap out of it ladies! I know I should be happy and I feel like a rotten Mommy already

I know that can be disappointing because I already have a ds and really wanted a girl in the mix this time around and was lucky enough to have that; however, I would have been 100% ok with two boys because my 2 yo son is the JOY of my life. I absolutely have LOVED being a boy mommy - it's really lots of fun! You will not know the love that will hit you when you meet your two prince charmings.....really. It's great to have mama's boys!!! Enjoy and Congratulations!!!!!!! Once they are in your arms you will not want it any other way!!! ;-)

I totally get it! Admittedly I wasn't prepared to have 2 girls and when I had a scan and found out it was 2 girls I was a bit shocked myself. It has grown on me and over time I became super excited. Now, don't talk to me about the future and raising 2 teenage daughters, but for today I'm good

I hope everything works out for you and don't feel like a rotten mommy. You're going through natural feelings. I have to say, my DS who is 3 is the best thing to ever happen to me. You will love raising boys, I am sure.

Hugs and congrats on a good scan otherwise.

Kim your not a rotten mommy. I cried when I found out that my DS was a boy. I wanted another girl so bad it wasnt funny. But I will tell you this that little man can make my heart melt. I have a hard time telling him no or getting on to him when he is in trouble. All he has to do is give my a hug and a kiss and he knows he is off the hook. I know that dads have a special attachment to daughters, and the same thing is for little boys and their moms. Congrats on two little boys.

If it makes you feel any better I had the exact same reaction. I am currently 27 weeks with twin boys. At first I couldn't get over all the cute girl clothes I couldn't buy. Then I freaked out and kept telling my husband that I have no idea how to raise boys...that I have no idea about the phases they go through and what they are thinking. To that point he told me it is better that I not know what they are thinking! In the end we decided to name them early which I think has helped me really start to bond with them. And now I am just so excited about meeting them.

Give it a couple of weeks for the adjustment. You aren't a bad Mom. Just need to get used to the idea.

Congrats! I have identical twin boys and could NOT be happier. They are soo sweet and they LOVE their mommy!

It's great and esp when they're teenagers.. we'll be thanking the LORD!

Congrats and you're going to love it. The ONLY drawback, so far, is the lack of super cute clothing.

Kim, you aren't rotten. I have threatened my dh that is there is not a girl in this mix I WILL find a way to put them back into him where they came from. I have yet to figure out how I will get them into his penis, but I am devising a plan. LOL!!!

Seriously I know that I will love them if they are all boys, but still in my heart I want a little girl.

I went and bought some little boy clothes and am trying to get my head into the acceptance mode. I'm getting there. Thanks so much to you ladies for your support and kind words.

I really didn't want a girl, I just always assumed I would have girl(s). I am 1 of 4 girls and my dad had 3 sisters. My sisters have 4 girls and 1 boy between the 3 of them. I was very shocked that I was having 2 boys. Actually I held out a little bit of hope that A might be a girl since I could never clearly see the proof on the u/s.

My boys have been wonderful to love since birth and I can't imagine having a girl instead of one of them now. I still look longingly at the cute girly clothes in the store, but that is all I miss about not having a girl. (so far anyway)

You have lots of time to adjust. Giving them names will help.
