Cervical problems

Well I am 14 weeks 6 days and was having contractions all day. I decided I should call my dr and he told me to get in as soon as possible. I went in and they discovered that my cervix was shortened and I was definatly having contractions. Both babies are okay. I am going in on monday to be sewn which is a little scary. We did find out that one baby is for sure a BOY the other would not let us see but insisted on trying to beat the he!! out of it's brother! It was rather funny. I think they are both boys now. Has anyone else had these kind of complications??

Hey, Well first of all, Congrats on knowing what you are having at such an early age and that your babes are doing well! That is fantastic!

As far as your cervix goes, I am in the same boat. I had a conization and a LEEP procedure performed on my cervix about 7 years ago due to abnormal cells. So, I had a good idea for awhile that I would probably have a short cervix if and when I were to get pregnant. So, thankfully dh and I got pregnant this year and to top it all off, we are pregnant wth twins. Unfortuantly about a week ago, my cervix was measuring bordeline short at 27mm, much earlier than expected in a singleton pregnancy. I went in on Monday of this week for another measurement and my cervix is now measuring short for sure at 23mm, however I have early placenta previa with Baby A and they cannot stitch my cervix with a cerclage while actively bleeding/spotting. So, I go back in next week for another cervical measurement. Hopefully, this bleeding has stopped and Baby A's placenta has moved away from my cervix and I can get the cerclage. From what I have been told, you will be on bedrest after the cerclage is put in for about a week or so.

This is my first pregnancy past 8 weeks, what exactly do contractions feel like? I get these sharp, quick, pinch-like, pains that radiate over my lower belly down through my groin, that I have never had before. They began about 4 days ago and have had me concerned.

I wish you the best in your pregnancy and keep us posted on everything.
