Hoping to Join You - Beta Questions?

Hi ladies! I'm sure you get tired of these questions, but I just got a BFP after doing IVF and don't have an u/s until 9/23. Here are my beta #'s:

9dp5dt (14dpo) - 376
13dp5dt (18dpo) - 3,000+ (my nurse didn't give me an exact # - just said over 3,000)

We transferred 3 embies and the only thing that could be more exciting than one baby is more than one baby!!

I can't offer you advice on betas, I just wanted to say good luck! BTW - take it from me...one baby is exciting enough!

Thanks, ladies! I know I'm being greedy hoping for twins. I have a 6 year old son whom I adore and I'm just thrilled to be expecting again after IVF! I'm a twin myself and always thought it would be great to have twins of my own, so when my nurse said my beta came back high and could be two peanuts in there...well, let's just say I'm having a hard time thinking of anything else I'm so excited.

Congrats on your BFP! I would think since you are a twin you have an even greater chance of having twins - but I'm not sure you can tell from the numbers alone as you see so many different betas turn into different things.

When is your ultrasound?

Thanks MommyPrincess! My u/s isn't until 9/23, which seems SO much later than everyone else's in my cycle group!

Congrats on your bfp!! My RE suspected twins and well....he was right! I had my first u/s at 7.5 weeks and although the wait was torture it sure was good to be able to see nice strong heartbeats.

Shanni - Congratulations on your twins!!! I will also be 7.5 weeks at my u/s and you're right - the bonus to a late u/s is that we can expect to hear a h/b. Thanks for reminding me of the upside to waiting.

Suzi and Shanni,

Congrats to both of you on your BFP (and twins...fingers crossed for you, Suzi).

I am still waiting for my u/s on 9/22 (I'll be 7 weeks) to see if I have more than one. My OB suspects I do because of my high levels.

Did either of you have your progesterone checked? If so, do you recall your levels? The last time my level was check it was 265 at 15 DPO. This combined with a high HCG level made my OB think twins.

The waiting is SO hard!!!

M.

Hi Mosiac!! I did not have my progesterone checked. I did IVF and am on progesterone suppositories and my doctor doesn't think a blood test is accurate when you're on the suppositories. The wait on the u/s is soooooooooo hard - I've been daydreaming of ways to move it up, but at this point I'm resigned to waiting. Did you do fertility treatments and/or do twins run in your family?
