ok so I know I only found out yesterday and this is already my third posting on this section but I am exploding with questions...lol
I met with my RE today and as expected he automatically said we will schedule a reduction. Did not even discuss other options, just said "that is too many babies" although he said that in many cases nature will reduce one or more of the babies on their own.
one minute I am 100% decided that I am going to do a reduction, the next I am certain that I am NOT. Althought this isn't really a reduction question as I am still too in shock to work through that issue right now.
So my clinic will not let me have photos because they said that it will make the reduction too hard (they just except that thats the only option) I am thinking i should have the pics regardless of what my final decission is. My thinking is that If I chose to keep all three I will regreat not having these early ultrasound pics of the babies. If I do choose to reduce I will still want the early pics of my remaining child or children.
Would you fight for ultrasound pics? Or do you think it will make it too emotionally hard if nature reduces or if I chose to reduce?

I think it's completely unfair of your clinic to hold your pictures hostage. Regardless of what you decide to do, they are your children and you should be given the pictures.
I'd demand them.

You have a really big decision ahead of you. I am sure you will make the right choice for you and your family. I just want you to know that I have been there (got pg with 3, lost one naturally between 8-10 wks) and I am here to offer support. I too had a million questions when I found out I was carrying multiples. My babies are one month old today!!!

I don't know what I would do in your situation, but I doubt it is lawful for your Dr to deny you access to any part of your medical record. I have never heard of that before. Since you are already pg, can you seek the services of an obstetrician at this point? He or she would undoubtedly do another u/s as a part of your initial workup.

I just wanted to give you a note of support. I saw a couple of your posts on the "pregnant with multiples" board and I just wanted to drop you a line.
I'm currently 23 weeks with quads, and it seems like just yesterday that I was in your place. However, I got very different advice from my docs. I got my RE care and first trimester prenatal care at a top-notch university hospital. I would still be under their care, except we moved to a different state about six weeks ago.
The advice that I got from my perinatologist was that with triplets, there is not strong evidence that reduction improves outcomes. So, at that hospital, they generally don't urge someone to reduce triplets unless they have some other serious medical conditions that would complicate the pregnancy. Quads is the point at which they feel it is "medically advisable" to reduce to twins. However, the final message that they gave me was that regardless of what we chose to do, they would be there to help us have the healthiest pregnancy possible. If you don't think they are going to support you if you decide not to reduce, (and it sounds like they won't be very supportive) then I would look for a new doctor.
I just thought I would let you know that I am 23 weeks and my pregnancy has gone very smoothly, so far. All of the babies are growing right on target, and I'm showing no signs of preterm labor, and I'm not on bedrest.
Hang in there. I know how scary and frustrating this time is. It does get better. Once DH and I got over the initial shock and decided to proceed with the pregnancy we slowly came around to the point that we are now excited about welcoming four wonderful new babies into our family. Don't get me wrong, we are still terrified about what is to come, but we have greater peace and we know that wherever life takes us, this is the path that was meant for us.
Don't hesitate to drop me a line if there is something that I can do for you. I know how hard this time is.
Hugs!

I am sure that by law, you have right to your medical record, which would include the ultrasound photos.
Any doctor who says you need to schedule a reduction without discussing your options with you, does not have your best interest at heart. I would consult with a peri. This is not an RE's area of expertise.
I wish you and your babies the best.

I have no real advice to offer, because I don't know whether it is legal of not for them to keep them, but you are currently carrying these babies, I would demand them if you want them.
I wanted to offer some :hugs: your way.

I have a dear friend on another, very small board (30 people total) who got pg with triplets on her 5th. IVF try. She did not reduce and the boys will turn one year old next month. She is also from Canada so maybe she can give you the name of the clinic she went to.
Whatever you decide, I would go to the triplet connection online and ask alot of questions. I would also demand your pictures and be VERY WARY of a clinic who makes a decision like this FOR you instead of with you.
Good luck.

Not sure of the history here but maybe I will find your other posts and read up. But, on this post alone, I really feel that it's your RIGHT to have the pictures from your u's. There is no reason that they should keep them from you. Many women m'c (not only multiple pg) and it's after having u's done and have pictures. They are your children whether you decide to reduce or not. I would fight for the pictures.

they are your pictures, I say demand them.
When I found out we were pregnant with trips last year the first thing my RE mentioned was a reduction. Please seek the advise of a peri.Deidre-36 & Bill-40
