All about BETA / HCG test results in multiple pregnancies!

Hey, it occurred to me that it would be helpful if there was a pinned thread at this BB about beta numbers as they do/do not relate to the possibility of multiples. It could contain links to sites that discuss beta HCG numbers, and those of us who do have multiples could post our betas (if we had them done) so newly pregnant ladies could do their own comparisons to their betas.

By having a pinned beta thread newly pregnant ladies could have beta info consolidated into one spot, and those of us who already know could have one consolidated spot to post our beta experience. Other BB's have pinned threads for FAQ, so why not us? Not that I don't understand the overwhelming need to know ASAP if you're going to have twins, triplets, or more, but at times the beta speculation posts outnumber the actual pregnant-with-multiples posts. Seems like if we had a pinned beta FAQ thread it might be more helpful all the way around.

Is this a crazy idea? A good idea? Or am I just being cranky?

Here are some HCG links that were helpful to me, although I must admit with a first beta of 665 at 12dp3dt I was already 100% confident that triplets were on the way!

(I *really* like this link 'cuz it has a thing about HCG & twins!)

    Smile Triplets on the way!

Hey Jillie, don't know if you remember me or not, Denise's mom. She was on here as drahrig. First, congrats on your pregnancy and God bless you. After Denise miscarried after the last IVF, they did an immunology thing and discovered she had this gene called MFTHR which causes miscarriages. She has had to take 13 folic acid pills a day along with multiple B vitamins to counteract this gene. She had an insemination done this last time and is now 9 weeks pregnant with triplets! Due date is 1-14-04. So far everything is going fine except for Denise having major all day sickness. She has never carried this far along so we are all very hopeful. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement during that last miscarriage.

    Daughter had
1 insemination which resulted in chemical pregnancy
2 IVF's which resulted in mc at around 5-6 weeks
insemination done this time resulting in triplets.

A little late posting here, but my betas were:

    200 at 11dp3dt
    512 at 13dp3dt

My RE's office said they aren't surprised by multiples at anything over 150.

Mine were unusually low for twins but we think DD was a very late implanter.
