so thrilled our twins are here!

Stealing a few seconds before they wake up for their next feeding - very early Wed. morning my water broke -- well actually I was just leaking fluid. Went in and they confirmed I ruptured, by then I was contracting pretty good too. Time to rock and roll -- 37w even by my count. Sadie Elizabeth was 6 lbs. 12 oz. and 19 inches long -- Josiah Carl was 6 lbs. even and 18 inches long. They came out squalling -- the world's greatest sound. God bless them they were rooting in the delivery room! They can both latch on and suck some but they get tired -- we've got the whole supplementing/pumping thing going on too. They are so cuddly -- they absolutely rock!!!!

Weird scary thing -- turns out my uterus was tearing from the inside already. All that was holding us together was my peritineum (sp?), which peri described as the thickness of the cellophane on a pack of cigarretes. In short very close to a fatal situation for all 3 of us had I ruptured at home. So, good thing I went into labor when I did!!!

Sorry if this sounds matter of fact -- I am so delirious that everything turned out as well as it did, especially not dying and all. DD is doing great too. Take care all, I'll be back sometime when I have more time (in 3 yrs. ).

Congrats Monica...boy are you lucky you looked for medical advice or things could have been so diffferent. I am glad to see how big you babies were. What were you feeding them?

Keep us updated mommy.
