Well, the good news is that I'm still here - 29 weeks today!
However, I had my peri appt. today (I go weekly) and a few things worried me....My cervix is measuring around 1.5. I've had two cerclages - one at 17 weeks and then another to repair and replace the stitches that were already falling out at 24 weeks. Right after that cerclage, it measured around 2. Then, iIt was measuring 3 for the past two weeks. It seemed to lenghthen for a bit. Now it's down to 1.5. However, it's still closed and the stitches seem to be holding. It's funneled up to the stitches but it's been that way forever now. I asked my peri if she was worried that it dropped so much and she said she's just glad there's as much left as there is. She says she goes more on how it looks than the actual measurement (she sees my crazy cervix every week so she's well aware of how it looks). She still thought it looked okay. This actually is not my major concern....now I'm more concerned about the babies.....
They did their growth measurements today and our boy is now measuring about a week behind and the girl is measuring about 5 days behind. Our boy was always measuring a few days ahead and the girl was measuring right on target. Now, the boy has fallen behind the girl and they're both measuring small. It was very difficult to measure the boy's head since it was extremely low in my cervix. She couldn't even really measure it. She just kind of did what she could and got an approximate measurement (she filled in where she thought some of the head lines would be). Their weights were 2lb 8oz (boy) and 2lb 9oz (girl). Our peri didn't seem worried at all and I can't figure out why not. Isn't it worrisome for babies to always measure on target or a few days ahead and then suddenly be a week behind? What do you think? I'm really worried my eating/weight gain is affecting it. I used to eat more and now I find it harder and harder. I was underweight to start and I was doing well gaining weight for a while. The past few weeks, I haven't done well at all. My peri told me to eat like there's no tomorrow. I just hope that there's not something wrong with them and that's why they're falling behind. I'd actually prefer that it's me and my eating. That I can at least control. Please tell me your thoughts. All their other tests were fine....heartrates, blood flow through the placenta, amniotic fluid, etc. Oh, one other thing, the amniotic fluid was down last week possible due to the fact that I was on Indocin. It was back up this week (yay!). Any reassuring stories out there of how twins growth fell behind and then went back up or at least everything was okay when they arrived? Thanks!
Unfortunately, I've been having lots of contractions. They keep raising my terb dose and I still contract. My peri said we're just going to have to be very aggressive with drugs, maybe use Indocin again for 48 hours, maybe raise my terb again, etc. We can't go any higher on the Procardia cause I'm on the highest dose already. She said I'm definitely a challenging case. My uterus is so difficult! I worry about all these drugs too. I hope they don't affect me or the babies. Also, she said we'd have to go into the hospital if I break through too much on contractions or if I start bleeding. I may have to do a mag wash again. Did I mention that the boy's head is literally on my cervix. I doubt that is helping!
I also might have to start dealing with the GD (I failed the one hour test twice) but my peri doesn't want me to deal with it yet cause she wants me eating a lot. She doesn't want to put me through the 3 hour test so she's going to have Matria come out and teach me how to prick my finger, etc. I'm not sure when she'll start that. She seems to want to hold off for now. We did do a CBC on me today to make sure my platlets are okay (re the Lovenox). So, I know I'm getting good care. I just worry that she isn't worried enough. I sound like a lunatic!!
Anyway, I just wanted to update any of you who were interested and also find out what you think about our twins' growth. Thanks so much and hope everyone on here is doing well!
