How do you drink your water?

Just curious...do you go through lots of water bottles each day? Do you just keep refilling a glass? I'm asking because DH bought me what we call "adult sippy cups". They are tall, plastic cups that have caps on them and a plastic straw to drink out of. I'm a nut and keep feeling paranoid about infections. Do you think I could get one drinking water this way? He washes them out every night but I fill them up many times throughout the day. Thanks for your thoughts! Sorry I'm such a nut! You can see that bed rest gives me too much time to worry about random things.

I had this big water cuppie thing that I got from the hospital that actually has the ounces on it so you know how much you are drinking and the top and straw. I kept filling it with ice water or should I say someone waiting on me did. It got washed maybe once a week.

I just reuse the same glass or water bottle over and over for the whole day. If it's a water bottle, I reuse it until I end up losing it. If ths could give you infections, my whole family and I would have been dead a long time ago!

I use water bottles if I need them in bed or I go out to the store, and large cups with lids and straws if I need ice water. For myself, I have a rule of one water bottle a day, then I throw it out or for the cup I wash it out once a day. Just so I know that germs are not hanging around.

I think that if your cups are being washed once a day you are fine, as long as these cups are 'meant' to be reused. I personally would not reuse a 'bottled water' water bottle, as that type of packaging is not meant to be reused & I would be worried about it. (LOL, I think I watched one too many Dateline exclusive!! )

I read somewhere that reusing a water bottle is okay, as long as you keep it cool. Exposure to direct sunlight can make bacteria grow, so don't leave it in your car or on your counter for a while and then refill it, unless you wash it out w/hot soapy water.
I have a water cooler in my kitchen and I use a new 8oz plastic cup each day. I keep a marker on top of the cooler and every time I refill I make a mark on my cup. I TRY to refill 10x/day, but I don't usually make it!

I usually have a bottle or glass sitting by the computer and another sitting by the kitchen sink and just refill them all day long. Dh read somewhere that water bottles should be washed and reused fro a couple weeks and then replaced, something about the pop tops can't get totally clean? So about once a month he throws all the old ones out and buys a new case of water. Our dishwasher has a sanitize setting so I think they're fine but whatever.

We also have those little 3 oz. Dixie cup dispensers in the bathroom and everytime I go I make it a point to drink at least one of those tho I try to fill it 2 or 3 times to equal a full glass.
