Fluid/blood in the uterus???

Hello everyone,

I just had an u/s today on my twins.

Baby A was 8w4d, heart rate 173
Baby B was 8w5d, heart rate 175

They are so close together and there is fluid right above them (could be one placenta forming) that the doc said they could be "identical" although, most twin pregnancies turn out to be fraternal - either way, I just want healthy babies.

I had a m/c in June and I'm a bit nervous to say the least. My question is this: (here's where my paranoia sets in)!!

If the fluid is not the placenta forming and is just fluid or blood...what does that mean and how bad is that???? Anyone have any experience with blood/fluid in the uterus?

Any info. would be great.

Thanks so much!!

~Sadey

's Sadey - sorry you're having to deal with this! Could your OB have seen a SCH? I wish I had more info for you, but I wanted to lend you my support at least. Will you be having a follow up ultrasound?

Thanks so much for the nice note. My RE saw the fluid on my last visit with him. The very next day I went to my first OB appt. and they did yet another u/s. This time, they didn't see anything....I know thier u/s probably isn't as high-tech as my RE's, but it sure made me feel better NOT to see it again.

I guess I'll be going back in 4 weeks (hopefully) for another check up. They are saying 8 weeks, I'm pushing for 4 weeks...I'm still waiting for a return phone call. I guess we shall see....

Until then, they don't seem that worried since I'm not bleeding or having any cramping....I pray that doesn't change.
