Gender & Heartrate differences

Okay, I know you really can't tell gender based on the baby(ies) heartrate but I'd still like to think you can. What I would like to know from those of you that know the gender of your babies is were the heartrates similar of different between the babies and what their sexes were.

I'm having twins and don't know their sexes yet (although I'm incredibly anxious to find out). Their h/r have consistently been pretty close (only about 8-10 beats per minute difference).

Thanks in advance.

Ellen

My babies always had very similar heartrates - we didn't find out the sexes because DH didn't want to know but we had 2 girls. It was really hard getting non-stress tests because the nurses always had trouble figuring out if they had the 2 heartbeats or if it was the same baby - they usually had to drag the u/s equipment out.

My babies heartrates were all over the map (from 140 to 180) during my pg, but usually pretty close together when measured. My OB used to call them the dueling banjos. I think they had similar wake/sleep cycles - after all who could sleep if someone was jumping on your head or punching you in the belly? LOL. I had a boy and a girl.

Never go by hr. My first u/s they were slightly over 100. 2nd was 160ish, 3rd 180ish, then my fourth was about 140ish. That has been where it has stayed for about the last 15 wks. Now my sil's all said that rate indicates boys as that is what they have and that was the hr for all 4 nephews of mine. But after 6 u/s confirming, they are both girls.

So you never can tell.

Good luck
