Lost Weight

I need some advice, help. Today I met with my peri and I have lost 2 pounds. He thinks I am not eating. But I am!!! He also measured me and I decreased by 2 weeks. All the baby tests came back good, 8/8 and fluids at 15 but my weight loss and total overall small gain has him perplexed. Last week I measured 39 weeks and today 37 weeks. I have gained about 7 pounds total and I am 34 weeks. Now wait, I am totally overweight and have been fighting high blood pressure the entire pregnancy. I must have gained 60 pounds trying to get pregnant and now pregnant with twins I've gain under 10 pounds. So what do you think? This Thursday they will measure the babies but at the last scan they were on target at 30 weeks. It is always going to be something isn't it!

Catherine,

I wish I had some words of wisdom for you, but I'm stumped. I know with my singleton, I was a bit overweight and ended up gaining only 12 pounds. With the twins, I did gain the recommended 45 pounds for the pg.

I'd say at this late stage in the game, since you are 34 weeks, you are not going to gain a huge amount of weight by your delivery date. I'd say if you are having trouble packing away the food because your stomach is in your throat, I'd recommend drinking 2 or 3 Ensures daily to get the added calories and minerals that you need. Not sure you can do much else at this point.

I would be much more concerned about your uterus going from measuring 39 to 37 weeks. While that may simply because the babies have changed position to more of a side to side or head down position, i think I'd still want an u/s asap to make sure there are no other problems that might have caused the change.
