need advice ladies

Hi everyone --I hope you can offer me some help!! I am almost 18 weeks pregnant and I went to the Dr. on Thur.--he said I am measuring a little bigger--I also have a doppler at home and have sworn that since about 10 weeks I heard two hb's-the kicker is, I had an u/s at 6 weeks (for another reason) and only saw one baby--weren't exactly looking for two though either--my next u/s is on Feb. 24th. ??? is do you think that one baby could have been hiding behind the other and I am having 2! I am a twin myself. TIA!!

At this stage in the game, its more than likely you are having just one baby BUT.....

Dh and I know a couple who at their 8mos u/s appt learned that they were no longer expecting twins but instead TRIPLETS. The trips, identical girls, are now approaching their 3rd bday!

Jillie

PS. You could be picking up your heart beat (which would be much slower or more than likely, your baby is moving thus the illusion of two h/b's.

My RE also told a story similiar to Jillie's. The woman was quite far along with what she thought were twins when her ob found out she had triplets!

Rare, but it has been known to happen.
