Confused-when to start ttc after miscarriage

    Hello everyone,

This is my first post so I'll introduce myself here. I am 27 years old and my husband and I had been trying for about 6 months and finally got pregnant. At 7 weeks I had a miscarriage, which was a month ago.

I was told by my doctor to wait 3 months to start trying again but then my gynecologist told me I did not need to wait that long that I could start after my first period or when I was ready afterwards that. I don't know what to do.

I am confused and I don't know who's opinion to go with. I am ready to try again but I end up doubting my decision out of fear of a repeat.

I would greatly appreciate some advice or guidance. Thanks in advance.

My rule is to TTC soon after an early loss and TTC later after a late loss. So for a 7-week loss I would TTC in 5-7 weeks. That said, I've done it both ways (waiting, not waiting) and neither worked for me and for some women I'm sure either way would have worked for them. I am sorry for your loss.

Hopefulcookie - hugs hun, I'm very sorry for your loss. My OB told us after our last m/c that we could try again after I had a regular cycle. I had my m/c at the end of Oct/07 at almost 10 weeks, a D&C on Nov. 5/07 and a very mild/short AF arrived at the end of Nov./07. We started trying again right after that cycle.

Some Dr.'s want you to wait and some think that after a normal AF, things should be ok. I don't think either are wrong or right and I think in the end, it depends on the person and how they feel about trying again. Again, hugs to you hun and many positive thoughts for a happy and healthy pregnancy to you.
