I am a healthy 29 yo, never had any trouble with periods. Recently got married and started to try, within 2 mid got pregnant and miscarried at 6wks Bc of low hcg stopped rising ad eventually came down naturally and miscarried. I was so upset but we kept trying, a couple of months later pregnant again, and ectopic. Lost my right tube during lap surgery, but dye test indicated left tube looks good. They now tell me I have remaining placental tissue and have to have a NYC shot anyway! Had shot yesterday and hoping this will be over ASAP!!! I am so scared about my fertility now and don't understand how this could have happened
Do you think dr was negligent in removing all tissue? Do you think I should see someone re my fertility? It this was just a fluke? Please share if you have had similar experiences, thank u!

I had a "stubborn" tube (was open, was closed, was open --- oops, ep, MTX failed, emergency lap - gone). The lab reported a single blockage so I don't think it was caused by a general infection (which typical shows in both tubes). The blockage was right at the uterus (interstitial); was it related to a previous loss or treatment? I don't know; my drs don't know or won't say. Was your 1st loss confirmed in utero? I had other losses that were cps (hCG <250 decreasing, no u/s) and I wonder if any might have been eps also.
My other tube was always clear. Although it took a while (e.g. twice the norm), I did have subsequent pgs. Unfortunately we had other factors, so our challenges continued. If all else is well with you and DH, I would expect you to have a successful pg in 5-9 months. If it takes longer or there is another complication, it could be a statistical variance, but I would look in to it at that time.
Sorry for the hardship thus far; hope it is behind you and your successful pg is soon!

Thanks
Thanx for your reply! Yes my first miscarriage was confirmed in utero and hcg got up to 733 no heart beat then declined to natural m/c. I just can't believe my luck to have a m/c and then ectopic and then not only the ectopic surgery to have placental tissue left behind and get the shot too!? I hope my bad luck ends here...

You mentioned you had a "lap" - from what I read online, if that was laparoscopic, tissue is retained 8% of the time which seems common enough (almost 1 in 10); if it was a laparotomy, tissue is retained 4% of the time - in either case you had a tricky location (e.g. close to vulnerable parts) and/or your surgeon wasn't particularly thorough (or had the tools - e.g. forceps vs suction). So sorry for the additional (hopefully minor) complication.
Harumph that you fell into unfavorable low odds three times (including 1st mc). I've been there. Yuck.
Yes, I hope more typical and good luck is ahead for you...
