    Multiple ectopics? Or NON-tubal ectopic?

Has anyone had multiple ectopic pregnancies NOT in the same location? None of my docs can really tell me what to expect, or whether to give up, since my 2nd ectopic was not really related to my first.

    ectopic #1 was NOT tubal.
ectopic #2 was tubal and they removed that tube.

Both were the result of IVF.

I have 2 frozen embryos left and I'm terrified to use my own body again. Clearly my uterus hates me. Just wondering if anyone else has been through anything remotely similar. My first ectopic was one for the books so I doubt anyone else went through that but maybe someone has suffered multiple ectopics in different locations?

    2010: Injectibles + Timed Intercourse -> converted to IVF = BFP ->Myometrial ectopic = 10 days in hospital + 5 months & 7 MTX -> No TTC for 1 yr
2011: AMH: now 0.9 (wtf?) FET -> BFP -> Tubal ectopic -> MTX -> surgery, tube removed
2012: AMH now 0.34, HSG shows scary uterus
    2013: One last FET????

Very remotely: I had 1 isthmus ectopic (tubal ½ cm outside uterus, MTX failed for me also) and 4 unknown pg losses (could have been uterine or ectopic). The offending tube was removed and after surgically reshaping the top of my uterus, I was cleared for ETs. Mind you, my 3rd RE wanted to transfer immediately, it was my 4th RE who did the 3D u/s and identified the extra uterine thickness (unusual fundal septum) "mild to moderate" impact. I believe in 2nd opinions (or in my case, 4th).

I am sure your uterus cares for you, but needs some help and/or some luck.

I'm sorry it's been so very, very rough. Wishing that a path becomes clear for you!

Thanks for sharing your story. Were you able to carry a subsequent pregnancy to term?

My first ectopic was in the wall of my uterus so my uterine wall may be a little weak. Prevailing opinion on that (~5 docs) is that I shouldn't be allowed to labor but have a C-section ~37weeks - assuming I can actually carry to term. I have adenomyosis which is what caused that to happen and could cause it again. So, although I was half expecting it to happen again, I was NOT expecting a tubal the 2nd time around.

I'm on my 2nd RE now but only because I moved. My medical history is so rare that no ONE doctor ever makes decisions about my care anymore. So 1 RE = all the REs in the practice. I am the subject of weekly meetings. Oy. It's kind of a built in 2nd and 3rd opinion. And now a 3rd and 4th (if not 5th). And I've seen the MFM to confirm the RE's opinions regarding the C-section. So on that end I think I'm covered.

I'm just wondering if I should try again. And that's something they can't really answer - none of them. So I'm looking for ANY success stories.

Yes, I carried a FET pregnancy to term. My OB reviewed my uterine surgeries, in particular a myomectomy (fibroid removal) and decided I could labor naturally, which I did at 38w2d. My friend had over a dozen fibroids removed (and a couple left that were too risky to remove) and carried her donor embryo pregnancy to term with a scheduled C-section at 39w0d. I've read online about folks with myometrial pgs (e.g. mostly uterine scars) and it seems similar to uterine septums: it's a matter of luck in part and sometimes correction is possible, the large majority of subsequent pgs are successful.

This study seemed upbeat ... Intramural pregnancy associated with adenomyosi... [J Reprod Med. 2009] - PubMed - NCBI --- fertility conserved which means to me "go ahead get knocked up again!" Since this is 2009, I take it's not you. I thought my ithmus EP was relatively rare and unlucky (it is); but I won't get a case study written about it. Sarcasm: Aren't you just tickled pink to be so special?

Wishing you better luck in the future ... seriously!

hahaha. Nope that's not me. But it might be the case they used to figure out how to treat me. I don't think my case is published yet - but it's in the works. Yes, it is oh so wonderful to be so special. *drippingsarcasm*

But thanks for finding something promising!
