What to expect?
I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst. My hcg is really low (only 41 at a little over 4 weeks) and hasn't increasing the way it is supposed to. I've had two miscarriages before, but both were later (8 weeks & 12 weeks) and required D&Cs. What should I expect to happen if I really do lose this pregnancy?

I'm very sorry for your losses and I'm so sorry you are going thru this again. At four weeks you'll most likely experience some heavy bleeding and cramping. You may pass some clots. Eventually it will taper off to light bleeding which could last for a week or so.
My thoughts and prayers are with you....

My mcs at 6 weeks were a couple strong cramps; once I passed just clots, another time I passed the lining of the uterus intact. For one, I bled one week and then O'd on time. For the other, I bled one week, stopped, then bled another week and then O'd on time. The later losses, as you know, were very different.
Of course, you need to get out of the ectopic danger zone, so if that HCG isn't going to double then we need it to drop rapidly. Hugs in this difficult time, ~S

I'm sorry for your loss Hoping. I just m/ced my first on Tuesday. I went to the Dr today and they want to monitor blood levels for a few weeks to be sure the hCG goes back to normal. The Dr wants me to wait at least 3 months we try to get pregnant again. That seems so far away. Is 3 months a normal waiting period?

Sorry for your loss, winklehawk. I think 3 months is a very conservative amount time to wait. I've had two D&Cs with two different doctors and both said to wait 1 cycle to TTC. I've never felt like trying that soon, but I feel confident in their opinion that is is perfectly safe to try that quickly.
