turner's syndrome

I was looking to see if I could find anything about this for a good friend who is terminating a pregnancy at 5 months to a Turner's Syndrome baby. Did this happen to you? Please reply, I would love to give her someone to "talk" to.

dear rgm

I MYSELF have turners syndrome. Most turners babies that are born live very HEALTHY HAPPY lives!!! I have no problems other than i am a little petite and the infertility. I live a very happy life.

I am very sorry to hear this is happening to your friend. I would LOVE to talk to her. Why is she terminating the pregnancy? is there complications that she has to terminate the pregnancy?

please have her respond to this thread - or email me at rar104@aol.com - or give me your email address so that we could talk

My DH and I would LOVE to adopt a turners baby.

hope to hear from you soon !

your friend is in my prayers

prayers

i was talking to my mom and telling her how touched i was by your reply and she reminded me to tell you that people with turners normally are highly intelligent and creative.

again, can't wait to talk to you - and i am very sorry if your friend has complications that she must terminate this pregnancy

one more thought

hi rgm, sorry that i keep repling, but i feel i need to say this

i don't know the position your friend is in or the health of the baby , but I would really URGE her to not terminate the pregnancy unless there are complications that she must and the doctors have advised her this must be done or her health or the baby would suffer.

if it is a matter that she does not feel she could care for a turners child after it is born. my husband and i would LOVE to adopt a turners baby.

GOD BLESS, Tiffany

sorry

Tiffany,

I am so sorry, but the termination took place yesterday/today. I am not sure of all the details as to why she terminated the pregnancy, other than that her amnio indicated Turner's. I didn't push for too many details at the time she told me, it was too emotional for her.

I wish you a lot of luck,

rgm

nothing to be done

Tiffany-

No, there is nothing to do now except wait for time to heal the wound for her. She has two healthy kids, that should help the healing.

Good luck with everything,

rgm

when the time is right i would definitely like to know the circumstances behind the termination because, unless the baby was not going to make it , i cannot imagine a dr advising her to terminate the pregnancy as turners babies can be born perfectly healthy

it is really upsetting to me

a little more information

Tiffany:

I did not speak to my friend about all this, she is obviously quite distraught. However, I was able to discuss it with another mutual friend and she provided some additional information about what happened.

It seems that not only did the baby test for Turner's, but there was something else that the doctor told her would only allow the baby to survive for a few months. Those few months would be spent in the hospital hooked up to numerous machines and receiving a lot of meds to keep it alive. So, it wasn't just Turner's that caused her to terminate, this baby wouldn't have lived for very long.

I am sorry if any of this has caused you pain. I know from my own experiences how hard IF is and to see someone terminate a pregnancy is very difficult, especially since I have had 2 miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy. However, I believe this to be a very personal decision that each person has to make for themselves and not receive judgement.

I wish you luck in whatever path you take.
