( loss mentioned)
i am currently having an early m/c from a donor embie fet. the first two fets were bfn, but the donor was 29 at retrieval, and had twins on the fresh.
13 have been thawed , 8 have made the thaw and been transferred. there are 3 more left, and i'm trying to figure if i have the same chance each time, or if it gets to be worse odds b/c of the failures on fets.
so, if you did fets, how many times did it take to hit the JP?
TIA!

Hi Violet -
I had many failed IUIs and IVFs with my own eggs and donor eggs, but have finally had success with DEmbryo FET. We were successful on our first try, thawed 4 transferred 3, one stuck. What is your diagnosis? We have unexplained infertility - I check out, DH checks out. We know our embryos stop growing by day 3 or 4. We saw similar stats with the donor egg, with only 3 out of 13 making it to day 5, the remaining arrested on day 3-4 just like my eggs. So we suspect we have weak eggs and something up with the swimmers even though the typical tests all look good. These things lead us to believe donor embryos could work for us - no known issues with my uterus, no known immune issues, etc.
What grade embryos are you transferring? What was the donor's diagnosis?
I have heard that some clinics are having success with doing an endometrial biopsy the month (I think) prior to the transfer. Have you discussed changing your protocol at all?
Good Luck!

Hi violet,
I just received my first positive pregnancy test with frozen embryo using donor egg. I'm cautiously excited, since there is some brown spotting happening. This was after our fresh transfer was ectopic. After that, we did 4 unsuccessful FET's.
I was originally diagnosed with POF. There were a few things I did differently this time.
-changed my diet (no wheat/dairy/sugar/gluten) for 3 months and still continuing
-start taking Maca, Selenium, Candacin (to decrease the yeast in my body), L-arginine (to increase amino acids in prep for embryo transfer), coemnzyme Q10
-listening to self-hyponosis cd (purchased online specifically for IVF)
-had an immunology test done at Dr. Beer's clinic which resulted in a different protocol
-had an endometrial biopsy the previous month
I am feeling "pregnant", second beta was 1785. Now waiting for the first ultrasound.

Oh violet, I am so sorry to read your post.
I was going to ask if they have done any immunology testing, and then saw kaytee mentioned it. It would be worth the effort before trying. Could be one small thing that could change your outcome. Again, so sorry about your news.

ladies, thanks for the responses..
i have had many established pregnancies unfortunately alot of losses too but they are not immune related.
i'm still debating even doing this last fet. i have wasted so much money i just honestly feel like why bother. if i do it, i'm planning on a semi-medicated fet with estrogen and progesterone, medrol, and maybe lovenox.
good luck ( and cautious congrats) to all of you ... if this was cheaper, i'd keep trying, but every dollar spent feels like another dollar wasted. i suppose there could be a good one in there, but when there are only 3 left of 16 embryos, and no clinical pregnancy, its pretty disappointing.

Our fresh cycle with one embryo was a chemical pregnancy. We then did an FET with two embryos (tough decision whether to transfer one or two), and that was a success. Currently 18 weeks pregnant with a singleton!
