My wife and I have been TTC for 9 years. This is our fourth pregnancy
1. Fresh IVF but lost at 22 weeks due to placental abruption
2. Frozen IVF but pregnancy wasn't viable at 9 weeks, had to do D&C
3. Conceived naturally but lost again 6 weeks (doctor said it was too late and progesterone was too low)
4. IUI cycle and currently on 5w
We did beta and progesterone check last week
Beta 70 Prog 33
Beta 139 Prog 29
Beta 280 Prog 22
My wife is on endometrin (100mg/day) since yesterday and have another beta check tomorrow but are scared and need advise on what we can do to from our side.

TTC for 9 years - pregnancy # 4 , dropping progesterone

If your wife is on suppositories then progesterone level at the womb may be significantly more than in the blood. My ovulation was surpressed so with Endometrin suppos. my RE considered serum P4 >5 as good (yes, my jaw dropped also: 5!) I have a friend whose P4 dropped significantly and was told to prepare for mc; her amazing daughter from that Clomid/IUI cycle turns 10 years old next month. Hang in there.

I'm sorry for your losses. Congrats on your current pregnancy. Even though it's dropped a bit, it's still within the normal range for early pregnancy and you said tha tyour wife was put on endometrin yesterday, so, I think that everything will be fine. Hang in there and update after her beta check. Sticky positive vibes to you both!

Today's results are not looking good. HCG went up from 444 to just 525 and the progesterone dropped to 23!
the doctor suspects may be embyro isn't good.
My wife has been asked to step up endometrin to twice a day.
Is there still hope?Last edited by rosaysh; 03-15-2012 at 04:55 PM.

Yep, there's hope. For example, could be there is a vanishing twin and it's masking the growth of the surviving twin. However, with an initial level of 70-some (around 14dpIUI I assume) it's not highly likely, but still possible. Hang in there.

Another slow rising result, HCG@ 650 Prog 28.
But, HCG rose higher than previous. still hope or am I too optimistic?
