pregnant after mc and afraid its happening again

Heres my story. I have 1 child. She is almost 15 yrs old. I found out i was pregnant in January and had a mc Feb 2nd at 5wks. On feb 7th they told me my levels were under 10 and ultrasound confirmed everything was out. Ive been spotting dark brown since feb 24 and thought it was due to previous mc. I have been having bubble guts and no appetite and very dizzy and weird feeling so i took pg test on March 2nd it came out positive. I went to the dr the same day and they called me later that night to tell me my blood test was positive and the levels were in the 300s. Saturday i started bleeding more and cramping all over. Mostly dark brown but some red. Im waiting on blood tests from yesterday to see if levels have dropped. Soo nervous. Anyone gone through this before?

I'm sorry for this scare. Bleeding in pg is not great, but it's ok. In my circles (IVF), most women with viable pgs bleed. Cramping in pg is expected to some degree. However, cramping and bleeding at the same time correlates more strongly with a loss. I'm of the camp that there's nothing to stop a progressing mc; others might suggest hormone supps. Did you get the results today?

I had back-to-back mcs, but my mom and cousin had mcs followed closely by viable pgs.

Dr called to tell me they screwed up and wouldn't have my results until tomorrow so just to stay laying down. Im still bleeding but it hasn't been enough to soak a pad and the cramps are all over but not bad. Just very upset stomach, lots of gurgling and gas...more waiting

Di-Anna, I'm sorry about your m/c. Unfortunately hun, no, I don't believe that you can stop a m/c. I really hope that this one sticks for you and please keep us updated. My own history, I got pregnant in 07 with my 4th pregnancy and my DD was 11 at the time. That pregnancy resulted in a m/c at around 10 wks, had D&C and we were lucky enough to get pregnant again within a couple of months. I had bright red bleeding at around 6 1/2 weeks with that pregnancy and they diagnosed a small hematoma. I had spotting throughout the first trimester until it cleared up and he is a very happy and healthy 3 1/2 yr old.

Sending you tons of hugs and positive thoughts. Please keep us updated.

I'm so sorry for your loss. When I was pg, I bled around 8 weeks...a lot! I was told there was nothing they could do if I was m/c, but I do know some doctors will do supplements, like PPs said. I am hoping for the best for you!

I am sorry you were sick; I am glad you are on the mend.

Yea, I would set my expectations low for an u/s: I read that a gestational sac can be visible when hCG < 1,000 but a sac isn't definitively visible in utero until hCG is 1,000 to 1,500.
