Bad news - ultrasound today - blighted ovum!

Hey ladies,

I had my ultrasound today and it confirmed that my pregnancy was not viable. They only saw a sac.... (They also reviewed my films from last Friday wherein they said there may have been a fetal pole and if so, it was disintegrating at that time - hum) I had three options, let nature take it's course, a suppository to abort the pregnancy or a D & C which I chose the last - a D & C. Did I make the right choice? My RE basically said it is up to me I would be fine with either although the suppository he did not recommend since I have to emotionally be ready for consistent bleeding and severe cramping for at least an hour.....I am scheduled for a D & C for Monday. Will this cause scar tissue and possibly give me a problem for future ttc???? Let me know your thoughts. Good luck to all of you and baby dust everywhere

Tamara

I am so sorry - I wish it wasn't a decision you had to make. I did not have a d&c with either of my losses, but know many women who did. It is a personal choice & many women have D&Cs & go on to have healthy pregnancies. I hope to see you are one of them soon.

Tamara, I am so sorry for your loss. I already gave you my thoughts. In total, I have had 4 D&C's (one pgcy needed two) and I have not had any problems with conceiving and scar tissue. As I mentioned, I am a bit of a control freak, so I wanted to know when things would be done as opposed to the wait and see. Do what feels right for you. Many hugs,
Pecan

Tamara, I was hoping we wouldn't hear this from you today. I am so very sorry. Did you see my reply on your previous posting? I gave you my two cents on D&C procedures. Stay strong but cry if you need to and let it all out. It will get better as the weeks pass and there is no reason I can see that you would not be able to conceive again. *HUGS*

I had a D&C after my blighted ovum. It went fine. I got pregnant about 6 months later but I had another surgery to remove a fibroid within that 6 months. Once they gave us the ok, I was put on 25mg of Clomid and got pregnant.
