pregnant after a miscarriage and worried!

I suffered a miscarriage on March 9th. That was my very first pregnacy and I was about 5 weeks along. After the miscarriage my midwife told me that I should wait 2 menstral cycles before tryining to get pregnant again, this would ensure that my body was healed and ready to accept another pregnancy. Well, I had done some reasearch and read that waiting one cycle would be good enough. So my husband and I decided we would wait one cycle and then try again. Well, I just found out this past Friday the 10th that I was pregnant again! So exactly a month after my miscarriage I had a positive urine pregnancy test. I am so worried that there wasn't a gap in between. My midwife told me not to worry that she believes that pregnancys that happen after a miscarriage must be meant to happen. But I just wander if she is saying that to be nice and trying to keep me calm. Has anyone had a similar experience? I want so much to be happy, but I am so scared. At least they are keeping a close eye on me, they are monitoring my Beta levels and making my appoints quick, But I am just curious as to what my chances are for having a heathy pregnancy.

I believe (I'm not a dr. for sure) that the waiting they mention is partly for phsyical recovery and more emotional healing that needs to happen.
Your body was obviously very ready so I don't think you should worry.
    Good luck to you!!!

Definitely don't worry yourself too much. My first pregnancy was a miscarriage 6 weeks along. I have read that it is very common for a woman to have a miscarriage the first time around. Like you, I was extremely worried the first trimester, but felt so much better to know that I had a very caring OB/GYN. If you are still worried about this pregnancy, don't be afraid to get a second opinion. It's a great thing they are keeping a close eye on you. My doctor did the same for me. I'm a very happy mother of an 8 week old baby.

    GRATZ on being pregnant!

Try not to worry. Meant to happen, whatever -- there really isn't a medical basis for waiting as I understand it. If your beta is going up appropriately and especially if your US shows a heartbeat, then you are in great shape! I know how nervewracking being pg after a loss is, but the waiting thing I think is not really real. Good luck and keep us posted!
