how long does it take to miscarry after falling betas.

Our rest cycle miracle pregnancy, our first EVER after two failed FET and alot of heartache, seems short lived. My beta fell in half yesterday from the day before so the RE said to expect it not to be viable and will watch out for ectopic. Since I'm only 5 weeks (no u/s yet) will I just have a period and if so, when. Does your cycle return to normal right away?
Anyone else out there who's gone through this? I have a lot of one-sided pain but always do due to a big endometrioma, so it's hard to tell if it's ectopic yet.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this...after so much heartache, it's so hard....((hug))

Many, many times, when it's ectopic the beta's continue to thrive well beyond where you are. You didn't post any of your beta's so it's hard to say for sure where you may be....but unfortunately, if they are low, and they fell in half, I would guess that you should miscarry on your own anytime now, up to within a week. If you don't, your Dr. may suggest a D&C.

    Again...I am so sorry.

With my first miscarriage, my betas fell pretty low and my body could not complete the miscarriage. I think it is different each time and that is one of many awful things about miscarriage--the unpredictability.

Lots of hugs...I am so sorry you are going through this.

I just had a m/c 16 days ago. THey weren't monitoring my HCG level before the m/c but on the day I miscarried it was just above 3000 which was very low for being 9 weeks. Not sure when it started dropping but I know that I had no morning sickness with this pregnancy at all which was a BIG red flag to me. I asked for an u/s to make sure things were okay but it was too late by then....
I had morning sickness with my previous healty pregnancies so people tried to tell me that every pregnancy is different but I just had a feeling there was something wrong right from the start. I have heard that it can take 1 to 2 weeks to miscarry after your beta drops. They will also want to monitor your HCG level to make sure it goes back down to normal (below 5 or 6) by blood test every other to third day.

I had a lot of brown stuff come out first and then it turned red like a heavier period. (sorry for the description) the bleeding lasted almost two weeks which is normal.

it is truly heart wrenching...I am so sorry you have to be going through this.
