Hailey - What was your first number again? I want twins again also, but will take whatever we can get! So, betas are more about how fast they double than about the actual number. Doubling in 48hrs is typical for 1 baby. With twins, you will typically see double + about 20%. However, betas are not an exact science and only a clue as to what might be there. You really can't know till the u/s.

Hailey - My betas were: 43, 89, 220, 1308 ... up until the last number, maybe, I was convinced that there was only one in there. Most of you ladies have a first beta of 150+ ! So it's definitely possible.

emme - It totally depends on how many days past transfer you were and how many days were between each beta.
(I've been analyzing betas for years, especially twin betas

Congrats a million times over to Emme on twins! I am so jealous! That awesome to have them for your first because you don't know any different! I had a sneaky u/s today and there is only one sac.
I'm pretty disappointed. But oh well, apparently I am not meant to get 2 for 1.

Stargazer - Oh, I definitely defer to you when it comes to twins and betas and anything pregnancy related, haha. You know so much more than me ! It must be really interesting to study that kind of stuff. You should do predictions for people (in a notebook or something) and see if you're right.

Hi ladies!
How are you? Wow, great news!
Emme – oh my that is fantastic!!! So excited for you!
Why is RE worried? Identical share 1 placenta and the fraternal have their own right? I understand there in general are some risks in multiple births but did she say anything in particular about why she was worried?
Hailey – glad you see you finally over here! Yes other thread is definitely slowing down but I still check in there so that no one is left behind and we still cheer for them!
Stargazerlily – YAY!! Thrilled to see such strong numbers for you! Hope now you will be able to relax and just be happy and enjoy the moment.. uhh.. that is until next time (like everyone else!!) :P
AFM – I had banana at 7am…then oatmeal at 10am.. then I had a STRONG craving for cheese Doritos but actually was able to resist since there’s a lot of salt in there and I’m still so bloated so didn’t eat.. but boy did I salivate thinking about those Doritos.. mmmmm…. So I was super hungry and finally ate lunch with my DH..chicken salad… half way through I felt like I was going to gag… started having a hard time swallowing like I was feeling a little nauseous.. I supposed that good.. but maybe not.. who knows… I am a little anxious awaiting my beta #2 this afternoon…. Nurse today told me next appt if this look good today will be 7-10 days.. I said WHAT!@#$# you’re going to make me wait that long?? She said next one will be u/s to see the sacs and confirm they are in the uterus… sigh… put me back to reality again… just b/c I’m pregnant doesn’t mean I’m going to have a healthy complete pregnancy.. so it’s back and forth on this roller coaster! I don’t want to be negative… so just trying to tell myself that this cycle everything has been so much better and not let the past worry me.
Happy Friday ladies!!Me: 34 DH: 44

purplyn - My RE was worried because if they're identical, there are a lot more complications that can occur. For example, their umbilical chords could get wrapped around each other. For fraternal twins, there is less danger but she is worried that one may take all the nutrients, leaving the other one with less. She also mentioned me being so small and I thought .. I better invest in some anti-stretch mark lotion ! You also still super crack me up in that you apparently have iron will in other aspects other than poas. I would definitely have eaten the Doritos !! And I've also been eating every three hours .. if I don't, then I start to feel funny or light headed.
Hailey - Yay, so glad to see you over here ! I've updated you on the front page.
steph27 - I'm sorry that you're disappointed.
I could see the pros and cons to both but know that your baby will be absolutely perfect !

I did a ton of personals on the board and then it was lost! Ugh, so I figured I would come see all of my friends over here

I found out my REs office does not do 2nd Betas, which freaks me out a little. I was really looking forward to that backup hope. Though I have Tricare and have to get tested on Post to be sure I am prego to get a referral to an OB/GYN so I talked the nurse into doing a Beta, yay! But it is not until Monday, so I will be an adding fool...oh the joy of IVF math.
Does anyone think an ultrasound 22dp3dt is to early to see anything? My RE wants me to get another referral to go back up there next Friday for an ultrasound, but I don't want to waste time [driving & more time off work] and money if it will only lead to disappointment...
Yay for all of us! Can't wait to get home and read this thread start to finish!

Hi castleterri ! I posted on the other thread so sorry for the repeat, but to recap, yes, I do think that it will be too early to see anything. You will most likely see a sac, but you most likely will not see a heartbeat. If you want to see a heartbeat, I'd schedule your u/s past 6 weeks (I did mine at 6w2d). I'm sorry that your clinic doesn't do a second beta .. I'm not sure what that's all about ! How can they give you nothing to compare ? I hate them ! :p Oh nm I see that they will do one Monday. I don't hate them anymore.
