Trying for #2 soon....

Ok - so I went to the RE today and had an entire workup done- culture/pap/blood tests/flu shot! She said to go ahead and start trying whenever we want and to track the ovualtion - gave me a prescription for Lovenox and that was it! I'm scared and excited at the same time given it too us 5 years for the first....I think we will wait another month - probably in Novemeber when Logan turns 1.

Question - I'm taking probiotics for my colitis flare up and I think it is helping - can I keep taking them? any experience or knowledge on them being safe for conception and pregnancy?

Question - I took a total of 6 days of prednisone late Aug and early Sept. for my tonsil removal....should I wait a certain amount of time before TTC??????

Thanks

Hey Jeppy! I remember you from the IVF boards. Just wanted to say good luck! I don't think probiotics would hurt anything. When I was doing my breastfeeding class when pg with dd, the LC highly encouraged them toward the end of pregnancy to help with the baby's gut when bf. Also, a lot of IVF protocols (including mine) call for steroids during right before transfer, so I don't think that the prednisone would have any negative effect at this point. If in doubt, ask your RE. Best of luck with #2!

Hey Jeppy...I didn't know you were trying again

I would not worry at all about either subject.

I take steroids now depending on what kind and dosage( I take prednisone and was around 15mg when I was doing IVF) so I know it doesn't hurt...they leave your system very quickly...they would not have any effect at this point and even if you were on them now you could still TTC. Good luck!!!
