I finally decided to start doing baby laundry. I just can't get motivated

Had my weekly OB/us today and his fluid is on the lower side of normal so another u/s for me on Friday. Glad he is getting great care but these dr's appts are killing me. 2hrs today I am getting nothing done.

umf

So went for the ultra sound today. No change except more weight for babies and I. I was having contractions 8 mins apart on saturday and called DR. I was called back by some other DR. who was like you should come in so we can stop your contractions. YEAH RIGHT!! So natrually they went away on there own. So today i went in to clinic hoping for some ideal on when i can become un pregnant and there theory is "now" we want you to go 37 weeks. OMG 1 week ago it was if you get to 34 weeks we will be thrilled. I was like when can i go off bed rest....there answer is when you deliver at 37 weeks. WTF!!!!!!! RRRRRRRRRRR So i was sent to the hospital for monitoring and I had 5 decent contractions in about 45 mins. Appearntly thats normal. ACKKKKKKk im so fusterated. Seriously how big do they want these two babies!!! 20 years ago people had 5lb single babies all the time. Now its how beefy can you make um.

Ok im done venting.

Michelle

Michelle sorry you are so frustrated but you really want those babies to cook as long as they can so their lungs are developed. Think of all the flu going around. Hang in there!!

Wow, you girls are so good organizing the baby room and the clothes!
My house is a mess from the bedroom renovation...The babies' room is not done (my husband keeps telling me he has plenty of time LOL)...they are still upgrading the electrical, the heat and the central a/c. We are living/sleeping in the living room LOL
I can't wait for it to be over. Another couple of weeks.
We went to look at some ceiling fans on monday, and my legs were so tired i actually got on one of those carts for people with disabilities. I loved it. I just could not stand or walk around! At first i was embarrased, but then i decided i don't care about what people think.

Michelle,
I agree with Shannij. The best place for the babies is inside the belly
But yeah, i do hear you. You must be so ready. Heck, i am ready and i am only on my 32nd week!!!!
I think maybe the doctors were tricking you all along...telling you "oh, 34 weeks is great", so you have a goal, you know? So you hang in there...kinda like cheering you on LOL. Now they see you are fine (meaning, yes, you have contractions, but they are not yet that bad...) and now they want you to hang in there till 37 weeks
Yes, 20 years ago they wanted babies at 5 lbs, but they never induced the labor when the baby reaches 5 lbs mark They are not gonna do that.
I also feel like if my babies reach a certain weight, the docs should just say "ok, let's induce you. you are ready". But we both know it's not about the weight If nothing is wrong with you, then the docs are gonna wait till the babies themselves decide to come out...well, unless you are past 38 weeks....then they may induce you.
Please don't take offense. I am feeling the same way as you about being ready, and i am way behind you in weeks. But we have to stay strong and be patient. I guess, i am kind of hoping that by asking you to hang in there, i tell myself to be patient as well Trust me, i am very impatient in general! I still have no clue how i was able to stay sane all this time LOL. I think this pregnancy has a reverse hormonal effect on me

Hmm, i wonder how Candice and Ailese are doing....

Hey all...

Sad - I totally agree. I am pretty sure I will refuse any chemical birth control, and when were certain were finished he can be the one to take one for the team hehehe.

Tess - So sorry to hear you're stuck in the hospital. I am so happy they gave you some time to get ready though!!

I have yet to wash any baby clothes. I want to, but here is my question: what detergent should I use? Everyone is telling me to use Dreft because baby will have such sensitive skin, but Im really not feeling the $16/small bottle..is there something else thats equally gentle, or should i stop being frugal and just buy the dreft?

Nicki
If you have the extra money to spend.... I would say sure why not. Dreft smells really nice and it works well on stains from formula and other stuff.

I have an HE washer and would love to use dreft but can't find the HE dreft at Sams or Costco...only babies R us in really small bottle. I refuse to spend anymore money at that store as there stuff is way over priced as is.

I plan to just use Tide HE. I used Dreft with our first and tide and it never caused any skin conditions. I also use the softner by downy that is rather strong...no issues there either.

They do have hypoallergenic soaps by ALL that are scent free that alot of people seem to like.

Its really up to you and your babies skin.

Nikki try All Free or Tide Free something without the heavy scent and dyes. I just buy this one and wash everyone's clothes together. Doing baby laundry alone gets OLD. Also there is some Oxy clean that is for Baby clothes that I use on tough stains but I also use the reg stain fighter. For fabric softener I found that the grocery store scent free dryer sheets work well.
I also have a front loading washer that I HATE. Doesn't wash worth anything. When I use reg detergent (Dreft MIL gave me a bottle) I just don't use as much.

Oh Michelle I just saw your measurement - girl I canNOT imagine how miserable you must be getting anything done. hang in there glad you don't have little ones to chase.

I wish this were the end of pgs for me but we still have 2 embryos left to transfer next year. I am dying for the end of my IF journey!!! I have been so blessed but the not knowing if this is over is killing me. I want to toss all maternity and baby stuff to someone else The thought of doing this again wears me out! I have dodged twins so far can I get lucky on my last try and dodge them again? I sure hope so as I read everyone's twin pg issues.
