How long on PIO during pregnancy?

How long were you on Progesterone in Oil after IVF? I have my 7 week ultrasound on Wed. and am still taking 1.5 mL every morning of the PIO shot. Last week, my doc said it wouldn't be much longer. I don't mind, as long as it's helping! I was taking Endometrin prog. suppositories for two weeks after ET, but doc put me back on the shots since both my hcg and prog. were VERY low.

I was on the shots until week 9. I took 1mL in the morning and one in the evening. I now have nerve issues from the areas i put the shots. I had these huge lumps by the time it was all over. Hang in there.....just a short while to go.

Thanks guys! 12 weeks seems to be the mark. Of course my paranoid self thinks that TOO much could be harmful. I should get used to it then for a few more weeks.

Nerve issues MGU?? sorry to hear that! oh the things we do, right?

Interesting thing, we are running low on the fresh replacement needles for the PIO so I had my DH use the same needle he drew the PIO from this morning. OUCH!!!!!!!!!! I didn't think it'd be a big difference but awe man, the fresh needle really makes a difference!

I was on the pio shots for only a few days then switched to the supp. I couldn't stand the pain that was the only reason why I switched. I stayed on those until I was 12 weeks. Good luck with your pregnancy.

I was on PIO from the day of egg retrieval until week 5 of pregnancy when I couldn't the pain from the injections any longer. I could barely walk, sit, lay down. I switched to vaginal progesterone (crinone twice a day) and stayed on that until 12 weeks.

I just finished my daily PIO yesterday, at exactly 10 weeks. My RE said that the placenta starts kicking in at 8 weeks so he gives a 2 week overlap. Have to admit I'm nervous to be off the drugs, although I don't miss the shots!

Hello! Don't know if you're still looking for answers or not..But I was on PIO shots until 12 weeks, and also the vaginal suppositories until 12 weeks. I was also on Estrogen shots until 10 weeks. We started the estrogen shots three weeks prior to transfer, the PIO was started three days prior to transfer, and the suppositories were started the night of our transfer. It was a mess, but now that I am off of them all is forgotten....till next time hahaha.
