Hi everyone! It's been a while - back from Hawaii - I so did not want to come back home! Didn't get as tanned as I would have liked, but o well. I guess we're supposed to stay away from sun anyway.
I finally started work again last week. It was ok - the kids adjusted back to normal with me and it's been as if I never left (even though i was gone for four months and they had to go through four or five different subs). By the end of the week though, I was completely exhausted. I slept for hours on Saturday to re-cooperate. I found it harder to eat and drink water (let alone use the restroom) often in the classroom. I am famished by the time I get home from work. None of my kids know that i am pg and last Friday, I was sitting doing a lesson with them. One kid said to me, "Ms. T did you eat a lot during lunch? Your stomach is big!" Then another one said, "yea, you look REALLY full." The one that cracked me up the most was, "You shouldn't eat dinner tonight." I am starting to show now that I am approaching my fifth month, so I told the kids today. They were excited and wanted to pick out baby names for me. They are just the cutest. I will miss them when they all go to 2nd grade. The dizziness I was experiencing finally went away after I began taking iron supplements on my own. I have my 18w appt tomorrow and next Wednesday, I go in for my anatomy scan. So we'll see what the sex of the baby is then. I can't believe I am almost halfway through the pg. Clothes are starting to no longer fit and I am dreading buying maternity clothes. I can't use the bella band anymore only because my pants aren't coming up past my hips. I feel like a frumpy cow. MizzB - I hope things are much better for you this week. Sounds pretty scary what you have to and have gone through, on top of IF tx. Sad - Congrats on the girls! Personally I am scared to have girls cuz I already know how I am (karma will bite me in the butt one of these days). But whatever the outcome, I will be happy as long as the baby is pink and healthy like Nikki says. Keep the names rolling ladies - need ideas! DH would like Logan for a boy (and some crazy super hero middle name like Storm Shadow) and he was totally stoked with Kendra for a girl (until everyone he mentioned it to kept bringing up the "girl next door" playboy bunny). We're still bouncing names off of each other. I like Samantha and Victoria for girl names and Jacob and Lucas for boys. Anyway, I hope things are well with everyone!

Hey Girlfriends!
Candice, I LUV the quilts that your Mom and Grandmother are doing for you. That is such a wonderfully personal touch. It sounds like you have your baby's room down to almost the last detail. Girl, you are a star! And to think that you and dh will not know what you are having til your babe's arrive! Skills, Hon, you def have skills! Either the green or cream colors will work as they are both so neutral. The only baby room item that I have decided on so far are the twin's cribs. The crib's are from Pottery Barn Kids, the Larkin. The crib converts to a toddler bed and are rather pricy but I see them as an investment that will save me money in the end as the crib's will grow as the twin's grow. As far as your OB and peri, I only see the Peri and her nurse practitioner. If you do not feel that you are getting the proper attention that your pregnancy deserves, I would drop your OB. I'm glad that you bought Dr. Luke's book. It will tell you exactly that in the book too. Your pregnancy requires special attention and if you are not receiving that attention, it needs to be addressed. tofupiggie, Welcome Back! I am so jealous of your Hawaii vacation. I can't wait to find out what you are having. Keep us posted! AFM, I have been MIA for the past several days as I have been feeling a little bit down, I think that it's this modifed bedrest. I did have an appt with my Peri yesterday and I had my triple genetic screening which came back great. The twin's are getting bigger and are looking much more like babies now. We even were able to see Baby A's lips. It was awesome! The only drag is that Baby A's placenta is still over my cervix and I am still having some spotting. The worst news is that my cervix is measuring less than 25mm and is a cause for concern. Unfortuantly, they cannot put a cerclage in with active bleeding. So, I go in for another cervical measurement in 2 weeks and to just take it easy. I get to go back to work on Thursday. OH! And speaking of names, we have changed one of the girl's name's from Dominque to Pilar. Hopefully, the names that we have now will stick. ![]() I hope that everyone is doing well, Ailese |

Tofu - Thanks for doing the chart! I wasn't sure how to copy/paste it in there. Welcome back from Hawaii! Your school kids sound so cute. They come up with the funniest things to say at that age. I'm glad to hear your dizziness has let up for you - and no way are you a "frumpy cow"! You are pregnant girl! Get some nice shirts and show that belly off! Especially now that you are "out" with your kids.
![]() Hey Nancy! How are you feeling? Ailese - Girl - you are good for my ego! Just when I think I'm screwing everything up - I come on here and you are singing my praises! I've been reading the book and freaking out a little bit because she says by 20 weeks I should have gained about 20 lbs. I was at 9 lbs my last appointment at 17w4d so I've got a long way to go and not too long to get there! It totally makes sense what she says about gaining weight early since we won't be able to gain as much in the 3rd trimester. So I'm taking her advice and having a milk shake everyday and trying to make sure I'm getting all my servings in each day. Thank you for answering on the OB/Peri thing. I think you are right - I've got to be more demanding in my care. The hubs is on board with having the peri finish out our care so we'll talk to him about that when we go in for our 20w scan.I'm so glad your triple screen came out well. Boo on that dang cervix length and having A's placenta over it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it eases up for you so they can put your cerclage in! I'm sorry you've been feeling down - I think it would be really hard to be on bed rest. You will probably start feeling even better once you can get back to work and some routine! I can't believe you got to see lips!!! How adorable! And I LOVE the name Pilar! Isn't it so much fun to keep trying on names as you go? I wonder how many times we'll end up switching names around before the big day gets here? DH and I have started doing that already! AFM - not much happening today - we're just waiting to get in to the perinatologist to look at A's placenta placement and fluid levels. Hubs is hoping the peri will say we don't have to be on pelvic rest anymore . We couldn't get in for 2 weeks so we have a wait on our hands! I'm just trying to follow Dr. Luke's recommendations and gain some weight and rest as much as I can. As I've started telling my mom - I'm not being lazy - I'm GESTATING!!! Hee hee hee.Candice |

Hey Ladies,
Candice, I am surprised that I am not gaining any weight yet. According to my last weigh in on Monday, I haven't gained any weight and it does worry me. I am eating every two hours and it consists normally of loads of cheese, bread, apples, pears, cherries, grilled cheese sandwiches, taco's, and spaghetti. Dh made an awesome bean soup yesterday that I have been religiously attacking. I do also love chili and french fries and take trips to Wendy's at least 3 times a week for milkshakes. I am hoping that by my next appt in two weeks, I have gained some type of weight! I also now have a small baby bump. So, what the heck is going on? I've been sitting on my arse for the past two weeks and "nothing." It's soooo funny that you strive to put on weight and nothing happens and then when you want the weight to be gone, it's such a struggle! Come on kiddo's, fatten Momma up! What sucks is that I have such an aversion to meat, which is totally not me at all. LOL!! So, I have been eating lots of boiled eggs and peanut butter. Oh, I am also loving salmon and shrimp, which I have at least twice a week and I have been making that clam spaghetti recipe that is in Dr Luke's book and it is fantastic! And I LOVE veggies, cabbage, spinach, corn on the cob, asparagas, you name it. Does this sound like a balanced diet? What are you eating, Girl? Cause your weight gain is spectacular and exactly what Dr Luke is advising for us to do. Hook a girl up with your secret. I feel like a "porker" though.... so I don't know what the heck is going on. When did you gain most of your weight? Or was it just gradual?I am pleased to hear that you and dh are going to speak to your Peri about your care. I can be very demanding but I look at my pregnancy like this... After years of ttc, corrective surgeries, and numerous IF treatments, it is a fact that we can't get pregnant by ourselves and if I lose this pregnancy, not only will it be emotionally devastating, but we will have to fork out another 10K to "try" and "hope" to get pregnant again. This pregnancy is more than an emotional investment on our part and I think that some OB's forget that. I don't have any frozen embies left so I wouldn't be able to significantly cut the financial cost by being able to count on an FET. Other women don't have any issues getting pregnant after a loss and though their loss is no less emotionally devastating than ours, it becomes a HUGE issue for us financially. That is exactly how I explained our miracle of a pregnancy to my Nurse Practicioner, and I think she got it because my Peri's office goes out of there way to accomadate my questions, concerns, and of course the special needs of this pregnancy. So, go for it, I think that you will be happy with the results. Nancy, yea.. my Mom was really not feeling Dominique and when I mentioned Pilar, she got all excited. So, Pilar it is. ![]() Ailese |
