Ryna, How beautiful!!! You and dh look SO happy! YOU ARE SO LITTLE! YOur belly is SO nice and round, I love it! I am just one big mound! You really look adorable, and your boys, the big brothers! How precious!!! THose are FABULOUS!!!
Krb, was it very long? What specifically did you learn? Jcy, I have NO doubt lack of sleep has something to do with those swigs, BUT I have also noticed an increase in my water works! It doesn't take much. Heather, I know she hasn't dropped yet. She is REALLY in my ribs! Plus, I wuld be really scared if she did drop. I have started swelling!!! I DO not sleep cause my wrists are so swollen that it cuts of my circulation to my hands nad keeps me awake!!! Not to mention the soccerballs that are now my feet! I am NOT complaining, just very glad it waited until now to start! There are a bunch of appts this week! My next one is tomorrow. I hope to have a better understanding of when she is coming. My dh is going stir crazy not knowing! We checked our registry and pared it down to what we have to have and my dh has sticker shock! I have been trying to tell him all about he little things we have needed and for us to get them all along, but he could/would only see the big ones! SO, we will be bringing home 75% of the store thursday night! We are already overwhelmed and this wil just push us into insanity! Our shower was lovely. VERY Texas. We had 20-25. Our cake was gorgeous! The decor was all Black/White and pink! They put a crib in the corner to hold the gifts and they overflowed into the room! We opened them up for 45 minutes! We got NOTHING off our registry and only ONE had a gift receipt. It is the ONLY little outfit we REALLY wanted to keep! Everything else was a onesie or towles or washcloths! She did get some really adorable little dresses, we just needed them all to be bigger! I HOPE she is not very big so she can wear most of them! She did get a BRIGHT pink stuffed Flamingo, and her first pair of PINK CowBaby boots! Some books, a scrapbook already designed and a memory book and some vintage framed baby prints! She got SO much clothing it will take 2 large loads of laundry to get it all washed! She has enough baby shampoo, soap, and creams to last for almost 2 years! One bag of diapers and 2 bags of wipes! She was lavished with love! ALL of the items given were very thoughtful and great quality, just smaller sizes. Hopefully she won't grow TOO fast and can wear each item at least ONCE! I WILL NEVER GIVE clothing again! I will get practical things that will be NEEDED and take aload off the mothers mind! I think, diapers, books, breast milk storage (if a nursingmom), breastpads, and anything else that is NOT glamorous! I had NO idea, how much people LOVED to give clothing! Boy, I hope I don't sound ungrateful. I am just in shock. NOTHING off the registry. WONDERFUL items! Given with more love than anyone should be given! I just don't know what to do with all of it! I called my mom for ideas and insight. She giggled at me and said, I don't know, momma, what will you do with it all? I guess you will figure it all out! Then she just oout and out LAUGHED at me! But, I joined her so it was ok! |

I remember with my shower for my DD (who is now 2 1/2 years old) i got so much clothing, i did not know what to do with it! Since then, i definitely have changed my ways...and try to buy off the registry. I think you are right...people just really think that the necessities are a little boring. you have the right attitude though....to look at it that people have thier hearts in the right place. The other thing i think is that "baby registries" are sort of a newer thing. And, i know some people think it is over the top to register for a baby shower...but it really does help so much. Enjoy washing and organizing all the wonderful clothing!

Hoping, thanks so much! I have been feeling like an ungrateful brat! I just wasn't prepared for only gettng clothing and what people wanted to give her. I do think registries are newer for babies! It does make things SO much nicer for the parents!!! I am SO overwhelmed as to where to start on getting her clothing organised! I wish there was a handbook!
ANyone need some pink girly wash cloths or burp cloths? I have NO idea what to do with them all! My mom suggested sewing them together and making them into a blanket! I told her it would be a HUGE one! I only have a few photos on my camera from her shower. My gf and cousin took the most and have some really great ones. When I get those from them I will post some to let you see how crazy! I am goin to take a photo of her MOUNTAIN of laundry to be washed from her shower! It is a ton! Her room is total pandemonium! And I am lost as to where to start! I will get started... somehow. |

Faith - Yay! Congratulations on passing that nasty sweet test.
Christina - You don't sound ungrateful. I was fearful of the same thing when I was remarking about the same situation last week. Life is all about experience and perspective. remember how cavalier a lot of us were before we planned our own weddings? Anyone who has ever planned a wedding always rsvps on time and takes into consideration the things differently than those who never have. The class taught us what to expect about time management with a new baby and followed Dr Karp's (happiest Baby on the Block) 5 "S's." So we learned to swaddle, how to hold the baby (football hold and side hold), how to change diapers, take rectals, and what items to have on hand in your med cabinet even before the baby arrives. Also, time was spent on the industry of baby marketing, and how basically besides diapers and formula, everything else on the baby aisle can be purchased on the regular adult aisles for a lot less money. For instance we compared, labels of juices, apple sauce in both baby and adult sections and there wasn't any difference. So basically, new parents (buyer) beware! In a nutshell it was really informative for clueless types like me and dh. |
