Thanks Grandlake! And thanks for the info on the car stuff! I totally love, love, love my Envoy, but if all 6 of us are going - we can't all fit! It won't happen very often, so I think we're just going to hump it for a while and see how it goes. I've been really resistant to the whole minivan thing, but I can definitely see how it would be a lot easier. Maybe by the time the babies are a little older I'll have gotten over my "minivan-aphobia".

Hyper - Girl, just wanted to tell you - try not to worry! I know that's easier said than done, but I had 2 instances of bright red blood that tapered off to the brown spotting. Now it's been about 3 weeks since I had any spotting or bleeding - someone please knock on wood - but my RE had said if there isn't really heavy cramps along with it, you're probably OK. They also said the really helpful "You'll KNOW if there's something really wrong". When I was having it I read all over the place that it's super common in twin pregnancies and even singletons - that some crazy percentage of women have bleeding in the beginning and go on to have totally normal pregnancies and babies. I hope you start feeling better soon! That m/s can't be fun! Have you tried eating as soon as you feel yucky to see if that helps? That's what helps me!

AFM - saw the little rascals yesterday - they are measuring right on at 13w5d. My uterus is measuring at 18w already! Baby A was swallowing and sticking his tongue out - too cute - and then he kicked Baby B. Baby B was napping laying there with his little legs crossed at the knee - told my husband it would have been even funnier if this little arms had been up behind his head. It was pretty cute. (I don't know that they are "he's" I just use that because I'm hopeful that's what they are!) Anyway, now I don't go back for 4 WEEKS! Ughhh! It's going to be hard not seeing them for that long! But then I see the peri after that - apparently since I'll be 35 in 2 weeks I'm considered "Advanced Maternal Age". Really? Cuz seriously, I just decided about a year ago that I was finally old enough to have kids! Anyway, I guess they'll talk to me about genetic counseling and if we are going to have an amnio and all that.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Thanks GLM for starting the new thread. I wanted to add our due dates list but for some strange reason I keep getting an error. I contacted the webmaster, and am hoping that someone over there will be able to post it to this thread. It said I had too many images on my post and that I had to fix it (too many heartbeats I guess ).

Oooooo.. minivan. DH and I looked at that, but are leaning more towards the SUV. He says he won't be caught dead in a van. I think they are the best inventions ever made. Too bad they aren't that stylish. But since we're just starting out our family, we're most likely going to stick with the sedans we have till we decide to expand our family.

AFM, I have to say, hitting that 13w mark has been wonderful. There's only been like 20 minutes out of this entire week that I complained to DH about being a little nauseated. My b/w results came back from the NT scan appt. The risk of the baby having D/S is at 1 out of 2856 (that's like the age of a 20 year old! and I am going to be 31 in June) and 1 out of 10k for trisomy 13/18. What a relief! O yea, Sad - you're right, it's mm, not cm. I haven't gained a lb in 2 weeks and have been eating just as much. I have to say, I have been pretty lucky getting an u/s every two weeks since I was 6w pg. I have four u/s pixies already and will have another one on Monday. Then I have to wait the four weeks like the rest of you. My pouch is becoming more defined (as if it's even possible) and luckily, the bella band has been keeping me from buying maternity pants. I did end up getting two pairs of khaki capris at Old Navy cuz they were having a 30% off sale online. $20 for maternity pants is all I will spend. I have been alternating a prenatal workout with nightly walks and feel so darn good these days. I hope you ladies will feel the same way when you reach your 2nd trimester.

Zcandice - too cute with the tongue sticking out. I hope you got good u/s pixies of that!

O yea, I wanted to mention - 35 is no longer advanced maternal age. The new age is 32!!!! Well, at least that's what my husband's BFF told me and he's a doctor. Scary huh? Hope you're all doing well!

zcandice,
thanks so much for your support! i am feeling better. i can't wait to reach the 12weeks mark.
yes, it definitely helps to eat right away. it took me some time to get used to being not hungry and pukey and still forcing myself to eat
but at least my appetite is better. A couple of weeks ago, i did not crave anything. I had no appetite. I could not cook either. I had to decide what i wanna eat on the spot, with no pre-planning I mostly used to eat not to get sick.
Oh, i so hear you about the risky maternal age I am turning 35 in the fall, and had no desire to have kids until 33. Of course, i never thought i would have a problem getting pregnant. If i did, i would have started trying earlier.

As for getting a car, we will have to be all set for a while. We bought a new Honda Element last year and we are pretty happy with it. We are also in the middle of the house renovations, so our money is all going into the house right now.

OK, just to make ALL of you feel better...I am going to be 42 at the end of April, so advanced maternal age is my specialty!!! I am pretty much the Grandmother of us all! BTW, I've had 2 perfectly healthy babies so far, one at 38 and the other at 39 (2 months before turning 40)!! It CAN be done!

DH has been totally against us getting a "BIG" vehicle, but I've been trying to explain to him that twins require STUFF and that we need to have enough room for a stroller and other things (groceries!) in the trunk at the same time. I've managed to convince him that a crossover/small SUV will have enough room, so we're in the process of car shopping. We're considering something like the Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape, etc etc. He would die if I suggested a minivan, so I'll just roll with it for now.

Where I am they still consider 35 and up "advanced maternal age" but apparently they are going to move that to age 40 in the near future. Who knew?

Sounds like everyone is doing well - I'm so glad :-) Don't have time to do personals now but I'm thinking of all of you.

Hi! I hope it's okay to join your group. I am pregnant with twins (through IVF) and my due date is Oct.12. I have been using a 3mHz doppler since about 12 weeks and everytime I used it I would find the babies heartbeats immediately. Now for some reason I am having a hard time finding them. The first time I had a hard time was this past Saturday then on Monday had an u/s and the doctor said everything was fine. I tried to listen to them again today and it was even harder to find it and I could only find one. Does anyone know if this is normal? I thought it was supposed to get easier to find the heartbeats the farther along I was. I am trying not to panic too much about not hearing on of them b/c of having difficulty the other day but then seeing the u/s. Anything anyone could tell me would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!

Hey Ladies,

I wanted to join this group of Ladies as you all sound awesome and so supportive of each other and with everyone's due dates close to each other, it looks like such a great support system through delivery and beyond!

I am 8w4d pregnant with twins today. Dh and I conceived our miracles though IVF/FET and are over the moon! This is our second pregnancy but we lost our first pregnancy to an ectopic. So, this will be our first pregnancy that has made it past 8 weeks.

We had another u/s on Monday and they are measuring right on schedule. Their heartbeats were beating so fast at 174 bpm! My RE said that is normal and a very good thing. We even saw one of them twitch! SURREAL! We are due Nov 14, but were told that we will probably deliver earlier due to having multiples sometime in late October. Strangely enough, I am not having any morning sickness. I do tend to get a "yucky" feeling if I don't eat something small every two hours or so. I do have a crazy appetite though, slight cramping every now and then, and I do get tired.

I am shocked about the advanced maternal age deal... I just turned 33 on Monday and I darn sure don't feel "advanced"! I couldn't imagine having kids in my early twenties. I was waaay too footloose and fancy free, . And besides, I hadn't met the "right" guy to even think about having babies with yet. I give mucho kudos to those that have the financial stability and emotional stability to raise and have children in their twenties! But, for those like myself, it was best for me that I waited. Even though, it can be such a slap in the face if you wait to have children in your 30's because often enough you may end up with IF issues like I did.

Thank the Lord for modern medicine!
Ailese
