Nancy - congrats on that little girl! How exciting for you. I can totally understand the excitement from the family for a little girl. I'm sure she'll be SO spoiled!
Ailese - Let us know what the peri says! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it's just a small blood clot giving you troubles. Nikki - I'm so glad you got to listen to the little one at your appointment. I'm anxiously awaiting hearing your news from the 27th to see if you've got a boy or girl in there! Ailese/Nikki - The weight gain thing is a big deal for me too - I know I want the babies to be healthy and I don't deny myself anything if I'm hungry or craving something, but I did watch my aunt (she's 4 mos younger than me) blow up to a HUGE size (I think she gained 80-90 lbs) and 5 years after her last child still hasn't been able to loose the weight. I don't want that to be me!! I'm not a skinny girl anyway so I'm really hoping that weight scale won't go up too much! At the last appointment (at 13w4d) I had gained 7 lbs. We go in tomorrow morning (at 17w4d) so we'll see what that dang scale says. I don't own a scale at home so it's hard to say - I feel like I'm doing pretty good - I can still get all my prepregnancy clothes on - just the belly and boobs are making things not fit all the way. Hubs and I are hoping for either 2 boys or 1 of each. I don't know if I can handle 2 girls!!! Obviously we'd be thrilled with anything. We're having a hard time coming up with names though. We have 1 of each that we both like, but since we aren't finding out the sex before birth, we need to come up with one more of each just in case. How are you all doing on the names? Hope y'all are having a great Monday! Candice |

Nikki,
Congrats on the baby girl news!!! I can't wait to find out the genders. I am thinking of calling my ob and asking to come in when i am 15 weeks too. I always thought i would have to wait till 18 weeks. Candice, i am like you: we both would like either 2 boys, or one of each You ladies are funny. I was size 6 pants and S (tops), but after IVF i gained some weight. I was still the same size, but my belly grew a bit (runs in my family...we have a small frame, but if we gain weight, our bellies become pot bellies). I am now M (tops), and i already had to get my first maternity pants and a skirt this past weekend. I can't zip up my old pants/jeans. The same problem: the growing belly. I am showing. My boobs have grown, but i am fine with that I am not complaining I have definitely gained, and i am so tired all the time that i can't force myself to exercise or even walk! I move more during the weekend, but during the week i wake up, go to work, come home and go to sleep. Oh, and i eat, because if i don't, i get sick. I am not even worried about what's gonna happen with my weight after i give birth. I just do whatever i feel like doing. If i am sick, i eat. If i don't crave veggies, i don't eat them. I love fruits, so i have to have those. I am not up for exercise, and i feel guilty about it, but i am just hoping to get better by the end of the 4th month. I need to feel better physically for me to exercise. I used to be this ball of energy. It's like you ladies said here: my body got abducted I am not myself anymore. Oh, just got the risk assessment test results: everything looks great. I am not gonna do any amnio test. I was told my results are those of a 20-year old woman who is pregnant I am pretty happy about that. That's all i needed to know. Next test, please

You're welcome Nancy! We will find out on the 27th, and I will be 18 weeks at that point, but just barely. Our tech will be gone at the normal appt we were going to schedule so we did it a little early.
Ailese/Candice - I am so glad I am not alone on the weight thing. I always give everything to baby that he/she needs, but I still worry. I sold my bowflex and treadmill right before getting pregnant so we could afford the FET, and now I am kicking myself a little..lol. I don't regret doing whatever it takes to get pregnant just wish I had sold something else instead hahahaha. I was 153 when I got pregnant, and now am 156..I dont worry about it until I start to think about the recommended 25-35lbs...well, then I begin to add and that leaves me nervous lol. My brother is a personal trainer, but he is very geared towards men and body building so I dont know yet if I want his help lol. Hypergirl - I never was willing to exercise when I was feeling rotten either. I stayed curled up in a ball eating oranges all day lol. I think we should never do what we dont feel our bodies are ready for. I sure hope you feel better soon! |

Hi Tanya,
I think feeling light-headed is normal. Your body is going through so many hormonal changes!!! I have heard that each pregnancy is different too! My mom told me she felt different symptoms with 3 of us ![]() I would still call my OB and just over the phone ask if she thinks you need to do blood work to check for anemia. Keep is posted and good luck with your NT scan. I am sure your baby is fine

Hi Ladies,
Aliese, I'm sorry you had that bleeding scare. Hope you're doing ok and that everything continues to go ok. It is very good news that your follow-up ultrasounds have been normal. Nikki, Candace - I know what you mean about the weight thing too. I am tall but have always had to work to keep from gaining a ton of weight. With the twins I'm not working out as much as I used to, and I stopped running completely when I found out I was pregnant. I know I will gain whatever my body needs to gain for the twins to be ok. It's just the fear of not being able to lose it again later that is in the back of my mind. I figure I just have to go with it and focus on what will bring me healthy babies. After all of the IF crap we went through, it is the least I can do, right? Nancy - Congrats on your little girl! Sooo exciting :-) Maria - That is good news about the low risk you got on your screening. Very reassuring! Tanya - I'm not sure about the dizziness, but figure that it is probably all related to the pregnancy. I'd ask your doctor when you get the chance. Every pregnancy is apparently different, even with the same woman, so I wouldn't assume that it necessarily means anything bad (other than you feel lousy :-(...) As for me, things here are good. We hope to know in the next couple of days what sex the babies are. DH and I both don't really care either way - it will be neat to find out! |

Hey Tanya,
I had a lot of dizziness and light headedness with this baby, but not with my other pregnancies. It got in the way of a lot, I couldnt even get up and make something to eat at times. It did pass by around 13 or 14 weeks for me, although I still get it occasionally. My doctor told me that all my blood work was fine and the baby was fine. He said it was probably (in my case) that less blood goes to your brain during pregnancy and some women feel that more than others. well, they dont feel the shunt of blood, just the dizzy feeling. He also said that it is more likely to happen when your blood sugar is low and you need a snack. I hope that helps a little. I know it is different for everyone, and just in case your blood pressure is high or something I would ask my doctor. I sure hope you feel better soon! |

Thanks for the responses ... I am a low blood pressure person and I had my BP checked yesterday it was within the normal range however I took some gatorade which gave a little boost and I was pretty much fine ...
I have my NT scan this Thursday so nervous and worried hope this dizzyness in no way effects my baby or its growth... |

Hey all!
Tanya - Good luck on the NT scan...it's always a relief to get that done and find out all is well! I don't think the dizzyness will affect the baby or it's growth. My doc always says the babies are going to get what they need and we get the left-overs! I think your baby is taking what blood-flow he/she needs and that doesn't necessarily leave you the full amount you are used to and that causes the dizzyness! Let us know how the scan goes! Sad - Yay! I can't believe it's only a couple days away for you to find out what what you are having! I can't wait to hear all about it. Maria - Congrats on those GREAT test results! You'll have to let us know if the doctor will let you come in at 15 weeks to find out what you've got in there... AFM - appointment went well this morning - up another 2 lbs for a total of 9 overall. I feel pretty good about that! Baby A is 7oz. and Baby B is 8oz. At one point she told us to look away or we'd end up finding out the sex...DH and I both think we had already seen a little pointer down there . Looks like my placenta for Baby A is down close to the cervix opening so they put us on "pelvic rest" for now. We'll go see the perinatologist next week so he can get a better look at what's going on in there. They also thought Baby A was small and had a smaller amount of amniotic fluid so they'll check that out too. Baby A had a heart rate of 140 and Baby B was at 145. So sounds like everything is going well! As always, it was great seeing them getting bigger and still moving around all over the place.Candice |
