I forget who asked... my c-section is scheduled for April 7 (39w1d) but I am beginning to believe it'll be sooner. DH is hoping it's not an April 1 baby. Me? Just want baby and me to be healthy.

Middle names -- is it lame to reuse a middle name from another of your own children? If it's a girl I think we have (mostly) agreed on first name but are working on middle names.

We used 'Anne' for DD (similar to my Mom's name, and same name but different spelling from MIL's middle name) and DH has suggested using it again.

That would give us two girls, each with the same middle name.

If it's a boy it's not an issue -- we have other names picked out.

Thoughts appreciated.

Car seats -- didn't wash the cover for the initial infant bucket seat or the convertible when we upgraded. Not sure if we're washing the bucket seat cover this go around -- it's been in the basement for a bit. DH handles carseat things. :-)

As someone else said, it doesn't really come into direct contact with baby's skin. I think either way is fine. Ditto bouncy and swing covers.

Is it Friday yet?

-tia

Hi Tia,

I don't know if it's lame or not, but I wouldn't use the same middle name for siblings. Of course in the Judaism you can't name a child after anyone living either so it wouldn't be an option for me.

Hi ladies- I'm back from what was suppose to be my last u/s with perinatologist, but found that there is too much amniotic fluid around her so I will have to see him again in 2 weeks!

She measured in at 6lbs 6oz, and I am only 34w5d!!! They are wondering if I developed a late case of gestational diabetes, so I have to have the 3 hour glucose done tomorrow morning. If that comes back ok, then I may have to opt to have an amnio done to check for chromosone problems! The dr. did say too that it could just be that because she is so large, that she is urinating more and keeping the levels up. I'm hoping it's the latter.
So, as it appears now, if I go full term, she should be at least a 10lb, maybe 11lb baby!!! HOLY CRAP!!!!!!

Heather.........holy wow.....10 or 11 pounds??? Eeeeeek!!! I hope everything comes back ok.

if the baby is estimated to be so large, do they want to do a c-section?

I go Friday for my growth sono, and I am actually hoping for a baby on the larger side, because I really want a c-section.

Heather~ At 35 weeks my baby measured 6lbs 14 oz. They didn't seem too concerned, but I asked to see a nutritionist anyway (I didn't make it through the GTT, but first two #'s were good). I think something is going on with the carbs and it's not as if I can't follow a low carb diet for 3 1/2 weeks anyway (I didn't get my appointment until last week). Let us know how it goes....

I think its funny how many of us want c-sections yet all the books tell us not to be too disappointed if we can't do a vaginal delivery. The only people I know that were disappointed were the ones that went through labor for a day or so then had a c-section. That would irritate me too!
