For those FET'ers, how many made thaw?
Hi Ladies,
I know that each clinic is different, but wanted to find out about the experience of others with FET. My clinic uses vitrification and says 70-80%. For those who got BFP's, how many embryos did you have make the thaw? All, half, none, etc? Thanks, LaTanya

Hi. My clinic also told me there was about a 70-80% survival rate from a thaw. For my FET they thawed 5 and all 5 made it (!)...so we transferred them all. Just so you don't think I am crazy...one of them didn't look great (not b/c of the thaw though) so they added that to the transfer b/c they didn't think that it would go anywhere. We had planned on transferring 4 b/c of my age. Good luck!

My clinic also uses vitrification. We had 5 frozen, however they were frozen in two separate vials. We wanted to transfer 3. The first vial had 3 frozen embies and the second had 2. We thawed the first vial of 3, however only two made the thaw, so we had the remaining two thawed and both made it. In the end we had 4 embies total that made the thaw and we transferred 3.
I am now 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. I have not had my U/S yet, but I have had higher than average beta numbers and my RE thinks multiples are a good possibility. Good Luck! |
