any primary infertility ladies pregnant now?
I don't know if there are many of us, but I was thinking it might be nice to have a thread for those of us from the Primary Infertility board who have become pregnant...since we supported each other through all the treatments, procedures, BFNs, etc., it seems only natural to support each other through the early stages of pregnancy as well...so I'd love to hear from any of you!

Hello!
I just received my BFP news yesterday! Dh and I have been ttc #1 for 6 years. We have done EVERYTHING!!! More than once too. This was our second DE cycle (and 4th clinic switch), and it finally worked!! My first beta was 82 @ 8dp5dt. I can't really find much info on whether that's a good strong # for my timeframe, but it seems to be. Everyone talks about betabase, but they calculate it from dpo, which really doesn't apply to me, so I don't understand how to interpret the data. Repeat beta is Monday for me. I am excited and nervous too. I just want to know that all is well so I can relax a bit and get to enjoying myself. I plan to embrace every cramp!! For me, I felt God was with me on this one. Got a lot of AF like symptoms starting right after transfer and they have stayed with me. I was very optomistic with this cycle. How has your journey been so far? I'd like to know your story as well. It will be nice getting to know you!!! |

linden,
I'm here! I was so excited when I found out that I went right to the pg board and didn't even realize this was here, lol! At the request of one of the BC's I posted my success story on that new section. I'll warn you it's really long! But, here I am at 16 weeks and I just picked out my crib! It's so exciting! I didn't know if I would ever get here but here I am!!!!! ~Becky ![]() Natural Miracle after 6 Failed IUI's Married 9 years |

Yeah! We've got a good little group going here! I'm so happy for both you that you're here. Doesn't it feel somewhat unbelievable still?
The short version of my story: DH and I have been married for 9 years. TTC#1 for 6 years. He has had several surgeries to repair a recurrent vericocele. He has only 2% normal morphology. I have unexplained IF. Started seeing and RE in 2007. Did several IUIs with injectibles. Got pregnant in February 2008 and m/c at 8 weeks and had a D&C. Chromosomal abnormalities. Got pregnant naturally while prepping for IVF (the only time in 6 years this has ever happened, and we had a <1% chance of ever conceiving on our own) in October 2008. Miscarried and had a D&C the day before Thanksgiving. Chromosomal abnormalities again. Spent 2008 being pregnant twice and miscarrying twice. Worst year of my life. I went from being an infertility patient to being a recurrent pregnancy loss patient. I don't know which is worse--both are horrible. Fast forward to the present: IVF w/ PGD and ICSI in February 2009 was a success and I am 11 weeks with a singleton. I hope this one will become the baby we've dreamed of having for sooooo long! |

Hi Ladies,
I just came from the primary board. I am about 6 weeks now. We transferred our last 2 frozen embryos and prayed. I've had 2 failed IUI, 3 failed IVF. This was out last chance and by some miracle it happened. DH and I have been TTC for over 6 years. It was just straight MF for us - low motility, morphology and quantity. I was just about to give up. I am scared out of my mind though, I was diagnosed on Tuesday with a subchorionic bleed. From what I've read and what my doctor said, I can have a very normal pregnancy. But I'm still very nervous. That's my story. Scared but so very happy. It's great to hear you're doing so well Linden. All of you are in my prayers! B |

Hello again ladies!!!
This does look like a really nice group! I have not had much success on the pg bb. Bexx: Do you know what you're having? That is really exciting. Linden: We are pretty close. I am 10 weeks today with a singleton! pretty cool! Ballister: Wow. Congrats!! What do they do for that type of bleed? AFM: I have been pretty sickly and tired. I am hoping that 12 is the magic # to feeling better. I just got d/c'd from the infertility clinic today and will have a regular OBGYN appt Monday! I'm so thankful to finally "graduate" out of the infertility world! |

bailster: I remember you from the primary infertility thread! I'm so happy you're pregnant! Congratulations!
Babyprayers: I hear ya with waiting for that 12 week mark! I'm so tired of throwing up! I'm hoping that it improves with the start of the second trimester....I can't even believe that I actually might make it to the second trimester this time around! I have my 12 week appointment at the OB on Tuesday. On Wednesday I have the NT first trimester screening. I was discharged from the RE at 8 weeks and saw my OB that same day, so I haven't had any appointments for a whole month! At first that made me incredibly anxious, but it's actually been nice to sit back and assume that everything is going OK and be treated like a normal pregnant lady instead of an infertility and recurrent loss patient! |

I don't know what I'm having yet, but if the baby cooperates I will know on April 30! So we're really excited about that! If for some reason they can't tell that day I'll find out shortly after because my OB wants to follow me with regular ultrasounds to check my cervix and stuff from all of my past surgeries. And if they don't bother to check for me at those u/s appts we're going to have a 3D u/s about an hour away from where we live. We might have one anyway as a keepsake. As for feeling better at 12 weeks...good luck with that, lol. Even though there were nights that I thought I would die I knew it was all going to be worth it. I lost 12 lbs my first trimester and didn't start feeling better until almost 15 weeks. I still vomit when I brush my teeth so I'm very worried about my teeth! I have never had a cavity in my life but I think that's going to change very soon...but again, SO WORTH IT!TO ALL: I am so glad that I found this area! I'm so excited to be a part of this group!!! Oh and I need an opinion while I'm on here. I bought one of those Bella Bands or whatever they are called so that I can wear my regular jeans unbuttoned, but even though they have a ton of stretch to them they are still tight. Is this OK since they have stretch? I am assuming they are and the girls at Motherhood Maternity said that they are not too tight and I know that I'm crazy, lol, but I wanted your opinions! Thanks!!! ~Becky

Bexx - I am in the market for one of those. My friends swear by them. Right now I am not showing, but my pants seem to push on the sensitive parts of my abdomen. My friends found the snug fit comforting - especially as they got bigger. They also said it stretched out a bit by the end. I think it should be fine.
Linden - So exciting! I know what you mean about being a normal pregnant person. You wear the infertility banner for so long it's nice to finally get to the next level. I don't know if the nerves will ever wear off, but what an exciting time! BabyPrayers - I hear you with the magic number. DH keeps saying that it can't come fast enough. I feel like I have constant motion sickness. Congrats on the discharge. I can't wait until I get that news! Oh and my beta was 79 at 9dpt. The doctor was very pleased. AFM - I have been going to work, sitting at my desk, going home and straight to the couch. I miss walking the dog, going for a run, and my house is a dust ball. But the limited activity and rest seems to be working. I have had some very light spotting to the point of no bleeding at night. It seems the less I do the less I bleed. Hopefully I will find that it is resolving itself on Tuesday - the next U/S. Have a great weekend everyone - I will be enjoying some of the nice weather - FINALLY. Maybe get a book and read out on the deck or something. |
