Pregnancy related nasal congestion?

Does anyone know anything about pregnancy related nasal congestion? I had a cold a couple of weeks ago which went away, but now I'm feeling really stuffed up again. I assumed it was another cold but a colleague has said that a lot of pregnant women have on-going congestion as a symptom and that it can hang around a long time. Any thoughts? Adding constant nasal congestion to my almost-constant-nausea is a real treat (but I promise I won't complain.... it will all be worth it)!

Sad - in my books about pregnancy it says the congestion is typical because of all the extra blood flow to your mucus membranes. I've had the congestion since my positive test! It says the only thing to use is the saline nose sprays - to not use any of the others. I think the book also said you can use Vicks vaporub to help too. Hope this helps!

Yep, I have congestion too, and once a bloody nose. It's pretty common. My mom had it too when she was pg. My nausea has gone down to very mild.. *yay* but sometimes gets me worried cuz I think there's something wrong. Been super tired is all and I spent the whole night last night reading "Dad's guide to pregnancy" with my DH so he can understand how I am feeling instead of call me a lazy butt everyday for laying around. ... men... *sigh*

tofu - I have had a few days when I haven't been very nauseous, but then it kicks back in a bit...I have not been unmanageably nauseous, but have definitely had worse days than others. My sister said she would have good days and bad days, too, so I think it is really normal to fluctuate a bit in symptoms. With my dd & ds, I hardly had any nausea at all...so who knows! I wouldn't worry about it. Being tired is always a good sign! I am on the go all day with 2 little ones, but as soon as I start to slow down, I just crash!

BTW - when I was pg with dd, my dh and I were at a small party and someone asked where I was (in the other room)...His response was "well, I guarantee, she's either asleep or in the bathroom". They can be as understanding as can be, but they'll NEVER really get it!

Thanks for the tips everyone - it is good to know that some of you had the congestion and that it went away. This symptom caught me completely off guard, and I am SO STUFFED UP!!! Looking forward to getting through this stage. My nausea is a bit better too - barely had any yesterday and then was starting to wonder what was going on. Of course it is back today though...
