Gina- sounds like a fun outing! Yeah for walking, and saying Emo and drinking from a straw

Mer- WHOoo HOO on the earlier bedtime working out.... Early bedtimes are just a necessity around here-- J could prob stay up later in the evening but Madeline asks (sometimes DEMANDS) to go to bed by 6 last night it was 5:45.... she's also sick so needing more sleep I think these days--

Mel- UGH UGH UGH on getting sick I am right there with you it SUCKS. i'm on day SIX and feeling a tiny bit better but still totally congested and stuffed up, coughing, etc... GRrr worst sickness i've had in awhile (kids too) but I hope yours don't get it....

I'm making navy bean soup with turkey sausage and I have to go stir... take care ladies, enjor the rest of your Sunday

ps quick question... Anyway find that they're kids are SUPER clingy and attatched to DH when he's home on the weekends.. ALL my kids seem to do is WHINE at him to pick them up (and needless to say want NOTHING) to do with me. I've accepted that they don't seem himas often and Im ALWAYS around BUT the constant whining for him when he's home is really annoying.. just curious if you all experience this at all- It almost makes me look forward to Mondays when he goes back to work and the whining is usually minimalized and mommy gets more love...

No. They are NOT attached to DH at all compared to me. If they could they'd sit on MY lap all day and nite and not even look at him. Strange tho cuz they do see him a lot too even when he is working.. I don't know but it bugs him A LOT!! "mama mama" all day long.. I MYSELF could use a little daddy needing by mine!!

They took a ONE HOUR NAP today and I'm sure couldn't breathe so woke up and are just MISERABLE insane unhappy. OMG. Snot like faucets. Sweet! They'll be in bed at 6 for sure tonight!!!! I hate when they are sick sooo much and the scariest part is that Gabe doesn't even have THE runny nose or cough yet... HOLD ON TIGHT cuz he's the pain in the ass when he gets a hangnail.! Fun.

Mel- I hope you get some rest and feel better. Crazy that YOU got sick first?? Where and how did that happen???

What in the heck do you do with them til 1pm for a nap, Mel?? That would be my issue. Sooooo boring and such a long time to wait for the naperoo. I am sure they'd be fine w/ it but me... dunno.

Who would've thunk it would be this complicated????????

I don't usually get sick myself so I'm not worried about that. I had every illness under the sun when I was young. I grew up in daycare so I was literally sick 3 times a week according to my dad. NICE!! The good news is; I am the healthiest adult on the planet now! (knocking furiously on wood)

Anywhoo.... have fun cooking Erica.

I just did some work on their REAL baby books. I got TWIN baby books pretty cool. I'm proud of myself now cuz I wrote a bunch of stuff and am up to date. Miracles DO happen. There's still more I need to document on paper and just stick in there and I will but I don't feel the urge at the moment.

Cheers to the return of the 6:00 pm bedtime... My how we've missed you

LOL at cheers to the return of the 6pm bedtime, aint it GRAND Mer!!!

As for us today was just miserable and by the time we put Madeline to bed she was crying totally inconsalably I do NOT know what to do with her I feel SO SO SO SO bad. I am finally starting to feel better but today she was WORSE plus her diaper rash/yeast infection is worse despite being on prescription cream so I'm taking her to the pedi tomorrow unless I see some drastic imrpovement by tomorrow morning and if she wakes up tonight and is as inconsolable as she was this afternoon/evening I may even take her to the ER as Ive NEVER seen her like this. She wants to be held and soothed but then thrashes her body around and screams- WICKED

ok enough complaining, hopefully she'll have a good night (so far she's slept thru despite being sick everynight) so we'll see what happens tonight. OH

Hope your day/sevenings was better than ours, im SO tired of being sick and having sick kids where have my happy children gone? Any just recently within the past few weeks have I looked forward to our days together as they have really started to be FUN.... I want those times back AHhhhh

ok off to do some shopping list/menu planning as I'm determined to try some new meals for both DH and I and the kids....

Oh and as for the being attached to DH I think part of it is that Mommy makes the rules (i.e i'm not carrying you around all day when you ar efully capable of walking, going up/down stairs etc.. on your own) but they cry at him and he picks them up so I think they've learned to whine at him and they get what they want (pulled up and down off the couches ifinite times etc..)

It just is annoying b/c it makes me feel like such a horrible parent to ALWAYS be chosen SECOND over him- makes me actually enjoy Mondays and being important again-

goodness Im just full of complaints tonight, I think I need some ice cream j/k

Erica, that makes perfect sense about them getting their way w/ DH. I understand!!

Yesterday was the WORST day we've had around here for a LONG time. They are really sick but STILL it doesn't make it any easier to deal with. Ugh. It's 5:15am now and i hear someone. NO WAY are they getting up now. Hell to the NO.

Bet you 10,000 bucks Madeline is teething, Erica. The butt rash is from that. You cannot take care of it w/ creams either. Mine get a teething rash and act just like you're describing. Pump Motrin in her around the clock and see what happens.

And you're NOT a horrible parent, either.

F- they're SCREAMING.. what do I do???

Does anyone have a shotgun they aren't going to be using today? I need one. ASAP. J/k but WHOAH is Nicolas SICK. Did yours get a cough w/ chest congestion?? Or what?? HELP!! I don't want to get antibiotics if they aren't necessary as I know that can affect them in the future.

Thanks!

Mer- Sorry you having a bad day!!! My kid are whinning today but Nelson is cutting his Molars!!!

We took the kids to the Rodeo yesterday they loved it and acted so nice!!! We were there for 2 hours and they sat in our lap the whole time.. Nelson fell sleep for about an hour and Kenley about 15 minutes.

On Saturday was my nieces birthday party and I'm a member of another board and 4 other moms on that board came to Tatum's Bday party. It was so funny to meet people we have talked to for years!!

Brandie- maybe when you come to Dallas we can meet up.

Oh yes, they got up at 5:15am. Now I'm thinking 6:15pm is too early!!! AAAAHHHH!!

maybe I'll do 6:30-6:45pm.

Nicolas is very very sick. The ____ in his chest thing. I have their 15 month ped appt on Thursday and I'm going to keep it so I can take them in and have them ckd out. I doubt they'll give them their shots tho cuz they have had fevers. Whatever.

Rodeo! Cool. Did you get pics?? I've never been.

Sounds like fun to meet up. I was telling Mel that we should all meet in Florida when these guys are like 4. would be great!

I put them down at 10am cuz they were just EXHAUSTED. Hoping today is better after nap.

oh gosh Mer too bad their appt wasnt tues or wed just to check them out.
we had a DPT shot and Chicken pox when we went.

just got done w/ elliptical. can hardly breathe. but least I did it!

so my kids get up like anywhere from 6-645am and they go down like 645-7pm...and their nap is ALWAYS at noon....and they sleep anywhere from the occassional one hour (just caleb) to about 2-2.5 hrs....thats about it. Caleb DOESNT need as much sleep as Sofia and he is the one that is a maniac running around all day! so funny.
